I'd like offer you a bit of unsolicited advice, as someone who installs and replaces a LOT of turbo-and-suoerchargers and repairs leaking cooling systems (I'm a Jaguar/Land Rover technician by profession): When it comes to Turbo Time, get yourself a cooling system vacuum-filler. Trust me. There are few things scarier than going out on your road test after a job and seeing the coolant temp gauge spike because you didn't bleed the cooling system 100% perfectly. Spend the $150(CDN) on Amazon for a good quality Air Lift and call it good!

J. Cookie despite being a gear head I’m not sure what any of what you said is. Any links I could watch or searches to look up so that I can learn about this?
@soiboisteve5154 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Would be very interested in reading more about this.
@JCook-dx5pf4 жыл бұрын
@@soiboisteve515 So you're can buy tools that use compressed air to evacuate all of the air from your cooling system and draw it into a vacuum. You then can use the negative pressure in the cooling system to completely fill the system up with no air pockets. This is much cleaner than trying to pour coolant into your engine using a funnel, as well as MUCH faster than filling and bleeding the system traditionally. The main benefit however, is not having to worry about leaving air trapped in your cooling system, especially if you have just made that system more complex with the addition of a turbocharger and intercooler. The links I provided previously are for the Air Lift by ULine, but other companies make similar devices (Snap-On, Mac, Matco; I'm sure there's even one by Harbor Freight)

I own a 2016 busa and I've owned it from mile 0. I have 45k on it right now and I ride it everywhere even the twisties. This bike is great for a chill ride, straight line and for going left to right. The only thing better than riding a busa to me is skydiving lol. I enjoy the bike for its versatile nature but not everyone sees the busa that way. Once you own and ride it for so long u get used to it in a way that it doesnt scare you but it's always fun and thrilling when u need the adrenaline. Just like every bike this bike isnt for everyone but even just for 1 ride I would suggest every experienced rider to try it.

I tried the busa once, heavy and not fun for me personally. But yammy seems to be pretty picky and over exaggerating the way he describes it here. You regularly see them with that kind of mileage turbo'd without any issues. Only time they go pop is if the turbo isn't done right - bad tune, aiming for too much boost or power/whatever. Remember its not like most sportbikes. Most of that mileage it will have been turning pretty low rpm so its not wearing out.

It's a 6 hr job start to finish if you don't have to do any welding to manifold or oil pan bung. If it is going to take 2-3 days to do this install you probably want to consider a professional shop do the work, it's just a turbo kit not rebuilding a forged engine. If it comes with a flanged header, preferably with V-band this is a straight forward turbo build. V-BAND gives you a lot more adjustability and removal and installation ease. Rather than dealing with bolted flanges that seem to fight you the whole time.
