We talk about how we don’t want children to grow up too soon but we put adult issues on children’s minds. It is sad that children are not allowed to be a kid.

I guess things are going back to normal since children had always dealt with adult things in life. My mother had to take care of her younger siblings when she was young. Coddling a child is a relatively recent phenomenon.

@Rim Gh coming from a Muslim, no one must force anyone to wear anything. Islam says it: there's no compulsion in religion. Sure, it IS our obligation to wear hijab, but it's still your choice whether you wanna follow that rule. Forcing that upon someone eliminates the whole meaning. It doesn't count in the eyes of God if you don't wear it willingly. That's sad that some people just don't understand how forcing other people to do anything goes in vain in any religion

My daughter wanted to be a boy. She stopped wearing any 'girl' clothes at the age of 10 (even underwear-she wore boxers). She hated puberty, wore bras that de-emphasized her figure, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, played with cars, cut her hair off, walked/talked like a boy...but I refused to call anything boy or girl clothes, boy or girl toys, etc. I did not assign gender to her behavior or attitudes. She was a girl, that meant anything she wore was girl clothes, her toys were girl toys (ninjas, cars, didn't matter) ALL her hobbies were girl hobbies (horror movies, zombie makeup). Guess what? A week before prom night she's asking for makeup tips and help picking out a dress so she can attend prom with her boyfriend. All she needed was real life parental support. She needed (and got) the support that she could do and act however she wanted (It is modern USA after all) and grew up into a confident woman. I would not have cared if she was trans, or gay, but I wanted that to be HER decision, not mine.

At the age where kids are still learning about “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”, presenting the notion that their genitalia may be wrong is not addressing gender dysphoria, it’s CREATING it, and it does a grave disservice to children who don’t have the reasoning to be making major life choices like this.

My personal view: If you're too young to discuss sex, too young to consent to it, and too early in emotional development to even know reasonably well what you want, then no one should be 'helping' you figure out what orientation or gender identity you are. I thought we were supposed to have the freedom to decide that on our own.

When I was a toddler, I wanted to be pregnant. When my mom and dad had the common sense to tell me that I was a boy and couldn't become pregnant, I threw a temper tantrum. But they put their foot down and told me I was a boy, and I couldn't get pregnant. Whenever I see what these people are doing and then think back to what I wanted back then, I'm so grateful that my parents did nothing about it. And this will come as no surprise to any of you, but I didn't understand what pregnancy actually was. I just had this weird fascination with round stomachs.

When I was a kid, I remember being in a store with my mom, and she gave me a choice to buy the pink sparkly unicorn shirt or a cool green frog shirt. I agonized for a minute and then chose the frog. My mom said, “Good choice, that’s my favorite too.” I ran around the neighborhood, I scraped my knees and got dirty, I wakeboarded, I had Hot Wheels. But I also had Barbies. I played house with friends. I loved the Spice Girls and jewelry and painting my nails with sparkly polish. My two favorite movies were Beauty and the Beast... and the Lion King. I grew up to be a high functioning straight adult woman who loves to cook and wear dresses but can also get dirty doing work projects. I am well rounded. Why? Because I grew up in the 90s with parents who let me be a kid without introducing me to warped gender psychology. TLDR: Don’t buy your daughter a packer just because she chooses the frog shirt.

This! Exactly! I grew up with 2 brothers, I wanted to be a boy, and I took pride in wearing my older brother's hand-me-downs. My parents neither encouraged nor discouraged this behavior - they just allowed me to express myself. It makes me shudder to think what might have been done to me if I had been born a few decades later, because by the middle of my teen years, I "grew into my femininity" and am happy to be a woman today. If that hadn't been the case, and if I still wanted to identify as male when I reached adulthood, then fine, but I'm thankful that my parents gave me the time and space to decide that for myself, in my own time.

Once upon a time, we saw gender roles as archaic, something to outgrow as a society. We dismantled gender roles. Women didn't have to be homemakers, they could be as career oriented as any man. Men were encouraged to embrace their feminine side. Movie representations of male heroes went from strong-jawed muscle bound guys like Stallone or Schwarzenegger in the 80's, whose characters often won through brute strength, to less muscular (though still in shape), more quick witted & intelligent characters played by guys like Will Smith or Brad Pitt. Our collective ideas about how things are supposed to be went from Sean Connery's James Bond smacking women around, to Pierce Brosnan's Bond getting his ladies through sheer charisma. We went from the Honeymooners to Everybody Loves Raymond. And all was right with the world. But now, Gender is paramount. And as such, Gender Roles must be reinforced. Men Strong. Women Weak. Strong Woman? Trans.

@@itchgods I can't speak for everyone and I'm sure there are people who attack trans-people for no reason. I don't want people to be treated badly for things like dealing with mental problems, just wanting to feel comfortable about themselves and go through a serious change to achieve that (Which is not an easy change to make, actually taking that step takes a lot of thought and consideration that I imagine can be very stressful and scary). If it helps them then what's the big deal, they're not hurting anybody and just want to be happy like aeveryone wants to be. But there is no denying that some trans-people, or more accurate, they're supposed "supporters", tend to go a bit too far. Sadly, when people see that it's not helping the stigma and I'm worried about how this might effect the trans-community in the future. But these supporters... I'm starting to get suspicious of if they really want to help trans-people or just hijacked their movement to paint a bad picture of them... Because many of these weird ideas that are supposedly advocated by the trans-community, aren't really from the trans-community at all. Actually, a lot of trans-people don't agree with these ideas themselves and it mostly comes from the "supporters"... It's weird. Yet it's the trans-people that have to deal with the backlash of it all. But I guess it doesn't help that there are very prominent trans-people who say and do some very questionable things as well. The trans-community isn't very vocal with being against these prominent figures and "supporters" either... It's a mess. I don't envy the trans-people who see things like and think to themselves "Great, as if we needed assholes to get even more ammo to attack us with...". Personally, I don't think there is any reason to hate trans-people as a whole, as long they're law abiding citizens, aren't assholes and don't advocate for bad things. But using children and focus on their sexuality like that is... I don't know, I feel very uncomfortable with that.

It’s all really simple actually. One of the founders of the idea of “gender constructivism” and “gender malleability” Paul-Michel Foucault actually liked doing extremely inappropriate things to children very much. In fact, he argued that denying children the power of sexual consent was “evil and degrading”. He signed a petition in 1977 to legalize doing extremely inappropriate things with children of 13 years and older. A lot of his buddies in that gender studies mumbo-jumbo shared his sentiments. So yeah, that should give you some idea why such people and movements are so OBSESSED with child sexuality and sexualization - you don’t really go so deep into topics that don’t pose a very particular personal interest to you. Again, this is just another attempt of perverts to gain legitimacy, not the first in history and definitely not the lest. @wesley3300 3 жыл бұрын
@@basil9751 I’m sorry, but gender and sex are the same. Look at the word gender. It shares the same root as generation, genesis, generosity, and genitals. Gen is a Greek root which means “produced, born, or race”. Your gender is directly expressed by your genitals, which the doctor, having delivered you, looks at to say “it’s a boy,” or “it’s a girl.” Your gender is intrinsically related to your role in generating the next generation via your genitalia lol. Masculinity and femininity, on the other hand, are both present in each person in different proportions. This is where “gender norms” as functions in society comes in, and that’s a whole other discussion. However, generally speaking, it’s a mother’s intuition to be more nurturing, and a father’s to be more commanding (not necessarily aggressive, but as a leader). It obviously ain’t so cut and dry, though, because the human race is so beautifully diverse! In truth, you’re no less a boy for liking “girly” things and no less a girl for liking “boy” stuff! Plus, we are SO much more than our sexual attractions, and choosing to identify yourself with that small aspect of your psyche leaves so much behind! You’re a unique, lovely, loved human being whose life is sacred! Nevertheless, rejecting the truth of who you are can only hurt you…I don’t expect you to jump into your life’s story (unless you want to share a bit, I’ll listen), but I wonder when it is that you began to think about gender fluidity and why? That may be worth exploring for you personally. Be well, God bless

as a transgender person: a young child can identify as the gender they are. however, anything that can’t be undone (like surgery) should not be performed until adulthood. additionally, a parent should be fully understanding of the child’s gender, as in the child being old enough to speak and having multiple conversations about whether the child is transgender or just being enforced by gender norms. if a child is sure of their gender then it is harming no one for them to be accepted as the gender they are.

trans teenager here. wont say my age, but im older than sixteen and younger than twenty one. hot take - i didnt realize i was trans until i started going thru puberty and realized just how uncomfortable it made me. on a much much deeper level to the temporary anxiety about adjusting to the new changes that everyone else had. i feel like kids dont really grasp that gender really exists when theyre that young? or at least that “sex” (in reference to body parts) does. when i was small i simply didnt care and just wore whatever was put on me. i feel like im not smart or old enough yet to offer a truly good retrospective on this conversation - but please dont panic too much about this if youre a parent. from what ive seen these antics only come from a very tiny vocal minority and in reality most trans people are incredibly open minded and have many radically different views on gender to eachother. i dont know - for me my experience of gender is a lot more complicated than just “girls clothes” and “boys clothes”. feel free to disagree with me, thats just my opinion (edit: another point to add: it does genuinely stress me out that some people will only ever equate transness with… whatever you call this stuff. i feel like it hinders the productive conversation about our rights as a group and just leads more people down a rabbit hole of transphobia. call me transphobic if you want i just dont feel like a kid should be medically transitioning in any way until theyve experienced more of the world)

In my country, its not legal to transition before the age of 18, so yeah that's a little better. Still most people are transphobes and homophobes, so its difficult for people to come out and opt for transition. But that's another story

Any parent who purchases one of these has serious boundary issues and probably should not be allowed near children. Adults should not be spending so much time thinking about babies' genitals. Seriously, WTF is wrong with these people?

When my daughter was very small, she said to me “I’m a boy!” I said, “no, you aren’t. You’re a girl.” She replied “but I want to be a boy!” I said “well, life is tough sometimes. You’re a girl. You may as well decide to enjoy all the good things that come with it.” She said “aww! Ok. Boys get to have all the fun, though!” And that was it. She had just wanted to play with the boys on the playground. That was all, never came up again. She’s now a very happy and well developed 19 year old....I shudder to think what hell she’d be living right now if I were a far left liberal nutcase. These people are destroying their children so they (the parents) can have attention. It’s disgusting. Like Sydney said, there are a few legitimate kids who really have gender confusion, but the vast majority do not.

God, it is terrifying to think that her life could have taken a COMPLETELY different, irreversible course if her parent had taken that seriously and gone with it.

When I was 20 I wanted to be a smoker cause it was always more fun in that circle. All the interesting people were in there. I also drank a lot of alcohol that time. Smoking never stuck and I don't miss alcohol at all. Thank FKK cause when I see those people now, they look old AF. Moral of the story? Not even a 20 year old know what's good for them. And is definitely not an adult. And these parents think a BABY knows who or what they are..... 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

@@marlee7389 "Not even a 20 year old know what's good for them. And is definitely not an adult." good comment.... and there is a reason for that, the part of the brain that judge consequences of your actions is not fully formed until you are around 21..... this is important for people to know because it means most people before the age of 21 cannot fully understand the consequences of their actions allowing people to make life altering decisions before that age is silly

I was called a 'tom boy' from about 7-11 years old, I hated 'girly' things. If my parents had told me I could become a boy I probably would have. I'd have been mortified three or so years down the line when I felt more comfortable in my skin. One of the reasons being a kid is so special is that they live entirely in the moment, they don't think about the future in any serious way, and it's one of the reasons they need protecting from any huge decision until they are - I'd say - 21+.

When I was a child, I was so inspired by my father that I wanted to be just like him - and I thought that I needed to be a boy for that! If my parents were as crazy as the ones in this video, let's just say I wouldn't be who I am today. And that's terrifying.

Well said. Kids are innocent and try to be what they want but fail to understand the realities of life. What these nut jobs are doing is suppressing reality and expecting things to work out for the child.

I understand bringing children up gender-neutral letting them wear whatever they want, get whatever haircut they want, using they/them and etc but this is just huh??? if your kid is 3 to 5 years old they probably don't even have a sense of their anatomy and what gender it's assigned to it's completely unnecessary
