25 minute Pyramid Walking Workout | 3000 Steps

This low impact walking workout is about 3000 steps. It will strengthen your cardiovascular system and tone your arms, back, shoulders, legs, hips, and glutes. The video consists of 5 sets of 5 exercises in a pyramid format. All exercises are done in sets of 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 40 seconds, 30 seconds and 20 seconds.
The five exercises are:
✳️ Heel touch/pullback
✳️ Diagonal overhead reach
✳️ Step back/tricep extension
✳️ Step out with lateral and front arm raises
✳️ Step touch/bicep curl
This workout can be tailored for all levels. Do the exercises at your own pace and build up stamina gradually. This workout can be done as a high intensity interval training (HIIT) session if you do the exercises at a higher intensity (80-90% of your maximal heart rate). A good gauge is the talk test -- you're near your max heart rate if you feel out of breath after an exercise round and can talk with some difficulty. (Please check with your doctor before doing HIIT workouts or other exercise.) The rest periods lower your heart rate and prepare you for the next set.

I just wanted to let you and your mother know how much I appreciate you both. You make the workout seem very entertaining and therefore very short. And I do appreciate that! I love seeing a mother and a daughter that get along and spend time together! My own mother has not spoken to me in 2 1/2 years so to see, a mother and daughter being together warms my heart tremendously

Thank you so much for your beautiful channel! I will be 52 in April 2023 and recently I had an episode where the doctors are thinking I may have had a mini stroke. There hasn’t been no signs of it thank God just my symptom at the time period before that and after I love to work out to your videos. I have always been a very vigorous Person to work out but in my later years I like to take it easier. Your videos get the job done and I can walk away and feel really good. It’s just enough! Thank you so much you guys are so funny together and you guys are very calming to the spirit as well. Thank you and keep up the great work I’ll be coming back all the time

Dear Lovely Ladies, I was so happy to find your excellent channel again with so many new, to me, workout videos. I found your channel a bit less than a year ago and just loved your sessions meant for older bodies. I had broken my ankle badly the year before and was greatly in need of balance, fitness, and weight-loss. You and your exercise sessions helped to restore me to a very happy and fit version of myself. I am 77 years old, and live in Michigan. My goal was to look good in a nice swimsuit and swim in Lake Michigan. By August, I was very fit and down 30 pounds. I was wearing a size 8 and was swimming in the big lake. Plan to do it again this coming summer. I am so grateful for your wonderful support, encouragement, and love for us all. Thank you, Thank You!

This is another great workout routine, thanks for creating it, April! I like most of your workouts, and I nowI prefer this pyramid structure with a variety of moves because the variety and frequent changes make the time flow quickly for me. Plus I can slip in a Charleston move whenever the urge strikes. Hi Aiko! I always feel better and more cheerful working out with you. Love these workouts. Having to exercise at home is such a bore (usually) but these offer a variety of exercises and gentle personalities to entertain along the way. I'm noticing stronger core and extremities. Thank you so much! You are my daily exercise regimen.

My neighbour 96 years young, a gift to the world the best attitude I’ve seen on any human. Lives on her own, shops cooks cleans house just keeps busy mention rest to her answer she will be a long time resting when God calls her home. Never once had she ever mentioned falls, know people 20 years younger do nothing afraid of falls. This state of thinking is unhealthy it blocks us from doing, we are as weak/strong as we think we are. Love the videos thank you ❤❤🇮🇪

I was one of those negative people. Thought I was lazy because I could never keep up with other workouts. Until I found you two beautiful souls and you have transformed my life. Im thankful every day and wake up almost jumping out of bed to do my workout. I'm only 5 weeks in doing my 15 minutes with you both and feeling so much better. Can now walk 8000 steps on top of the steps I gain with you. I've lost 10lbs since New Year. My focus and mindset are powerful and I can't wait to live the rest of my life this way. Greetings from Montreal, Canada to both you and mom! I am a medically retired paramedic due to a severe neck injury. Before the accident, I was into rock climbing, was an alpine ski patroller, worked out daily and travelled extensively, having even summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. After my work related injury, I was forced into disability and spiraled out of control, eating away during episodes of severe spasms, migraines and intense pain. I was told by the neurosurgeon that my injury could not be repared and was ordered to stop working and avoid skiing and rock climbing. 5 years later, I went from 123 pounds to 230 pounds. I turned 65 last December and decided I had enough of just existing. I joined weight watchers and found your channel to slowly work myself back into shape. This past Monday was the first time in 5 years that I exercised physically. I am going at my own pace but am able to finish your 25 minute pyramid workout and after finishing, I literally cried because it actually felt good. My motivation is of course my health, as I want to live longer with my amazing husband and I still have the good fortune of not having any health issues because of these 5 years of overeating and not doing anything. I want to keep it that way! As further motivation, we have just bought our airfare and reserved hotels for a one month trip to Italy this coming December! I want to be able to walk all over Italy without feeling tired or out of breath. Thank you for posting your videos! See you again tomorrow!

In her younger days, kids like her played outside and had physical activities at school etc. TV and video games were not around! I just tried a workout with an online physical therapist and quit after the first 5 minutes! She has us doing lunges repeatedly and my balance and legs just can't do it! You two are so perfectly what I need. I'm not sure why I bother to look elsewhere. She's been deleted from my bookmarks. Thank you for your perfect workouts.

Hi there! Calories burned will vary per person, but generally 3000 steps is about 1.5 miles. For a person about 120 pounds, this would be around 75 calories. You can input your own weight and calculate your own calorie estimation by checking out the MyFitnessPal calorie counter: www.myfitnesspal.com/exercise/lookup. For this workout, under the heading "...or choose an exercise below," use the dropdown menu and look for Walking, 3.0 mph, mod. pace. hi aiko! love the workouts, they're really easy to follow and manageable. my 85 year old grandma and i do different exercises that you lead, on a daily basis. haha however, she has a comment. why not do the ones with weights last so it won't be too tiring on the arms early on? haha. anyway, just wana say keep up the good work with your mum! you guys are an inspiration! stay healthy, happy and safe always! sending love from indonesia!

But also know that weights are not necessary if your arms tire easily. Better to build up the muscles first and using lighter weights could make things easier then build up to the heavier ones!
