Hey everyone, in today's video I'm going to share with you the best yoga poses to get you into the splits. This is the stretching routine I've been doing once to three times a week to achieve my front splits. It only takes about 15 minutes and has given me great results in about 5 weeks.
This front splits yoga tutorial will go over poses that deeply stretch the hamstrings, hip flexors, calves and quads so that you can ease your way into the splits gradually over time. I use a lot of props for this so I recommend that you have at least two blocks. I'm also using the wall and some stairs as well as a 9 inch exercise ball.

I remember being 15 and trying out for cheerleading and practicing the splits! Now again at 61 practicing yoga and these splits! I still got it!!!☮️❤️😊🙏

I'm working on my splits for some time now. I've tried multiple videos and tips etc but this video made such a huge difference in my training. I'm almost there now! Thank you for telling me to just take my hands off the ground. I didn't think about that before but it's such a game changer! 🥰

More videos like this please you look fresh and I found it useful to watch this video first I almost felt like I've actually done the splits by the time I'd finished it😅 I am actually going to try it both sides for 30 minutes maybe later on or maybe tomorrow morning but thank you for the video it was very relatable and powered me to watch try it and have fun🎉

Got my splits very quickly only using the stretches from the first 6 mins of the video and stretching in between reps at the squat rack while training legs

This is great!! For last week or so I've been doing stretches to do the splits it's something I've want to achieve for a long time, so this has popped up at the perfect time,maybe I'll get there or maybe my body will so um no 😅. Me too!! I was a dancer in my teens. I'm 34 now & really want my flexibility back so started doing yoga every day this year. My goal too is to do the splits by the end of the year. In January, I was about 1.5ft from the ground. Now I'm down to only the last like 4 inches. Been stuck tho! Swear she read our minds! Lol. Good Luck friend!

When I first started my serious yoga journey (daily yoga) my goal was always to be able to do the splits….i still can’t 8 years later. lol definitely going to add this to my daily routine. Thanks Kassandra for always knowing what I need 😂

Thank you for sharing this routine, I always thought I'd never do a split because of my body, so I'm really excited to see if I can achieve it. On the first day, it feels hard on the knees to do all in one leg and then the other. I think I prefer to alternate legs on each exercise (if that makes sense). Also, I would prefer a video of the routine in real time, as on your usual brilliant yoga videos. Thank you again! ❤

Thank you for that routine 😍 Do you think you will be posting soon another lower body flexibility? Maybe a 40-45 mins format, targeting hips, hamstrings to improve global flexibility? I have been doing over and over and again all your slow flow/vinyasa lessons for lower body flexibility and love them all ! Thank you ❤

At 68, I have no hope of adding splits to my yoga practice 🤣 but as a 2+ year YT & app subscriber, I'm a devoted follower and I would love to see more of these 'practice sessions' in the mix of your videos. I know I would benefit from learning steps to master a certain level of yoga expertise, not just practice poses repeatedly. Either way, loved this video and I'm a grateful fan!

Thank you - I have been aspiring to do front splits but have little to none flexibility and tight hamstrings and calf muscles but I'm working on achieving them and your honest video gave me a lot of hope! I can inch forward with my right leg and rest my hip on a block but the left side is not there yet - little by little 😊 ❤

Thank you, but please don't forget to get more strength to your leg muscles to send a positive signal to your brain so he can feel safe by going further in the split. Strength is important not to get injuries!

I’m 71 and can still do the splits (my anatomy likes this kind of splits). But don’t try to do them too fast. Last year I pulled the piriformis while showing off for the grandkids! Ouch!😮

I've done this 3times now.this morning acknowledged i have tight thigh..psoas muscle maybe. I feel more comfortable overall doing this practice!

Although it was hard and felt awkward the first time, I have a relaxing feeling on my hips, legs and feet afterwards, as if a lot of my tension has been released. I thought I would be in pain!

Great tips & stretches for front splits which I’ve been working on for ages!! About 4” from the floor!! Well done you pretty well made it😊👍 The Pilates soft ball is terrific as I do Pilates (as well as yoga) for core strength and overall strength with weights or resistance bands. Wow That was pleasant and Intense Id been doing your yin spluts vids for about a year roughly once a week Saturdays Been convalescing..this is my first yin style in 3weeks...stopping this vidvin places 24mins thisvtime Sure ut will be more fluid as i repeat class. Glad i got to do it though more apprehensive then when i watched vidbon Monday. 🎉

Thank you so much for this, Kassandra! I had a goal of getting my splits this year but fell off of it after taking myself a little too far too fast. One question I have is about hip squaring. Do we need to keep our hips pretty square for proper split form or does that not really matter?

That comes with time! As flexibility develops it will be easier and easier to square the hips forward.

Does this sequence also helps with the middle splits? I'm nothing flexible. I think the max I can open my legs is at 90° 🤦
