This is an absolutely scientific way of managing and chaneling one's energy and equilibrium. Honest to myself, I have missed all these simple, yet profound technicalities all through my life as a student of Yoga. Great contribution by Joey Miles, a true Yoga Guru.

at 8.59 the correct alignment is to take a straight line from the base of the heal up the side leg over the ankle bone, up the side of the leg over the hips, under the arm and extended through to the finger tips,,, the pose has no real focus on the hips swaying out because they have to to get the alignment... another way to look at it is take a long pole place it on the ankle bone and rest it on the side leg and body while resting on the arms and finger tips, this is the alignment....its not a hip alignment pose, the hip has to reach out...

All movements (sways) are countered for balance to occur. My understanding is that Joey said the hip sways out in order for the alignment to occur, in effect, the same point you made, said a different way. Good discussion 💐🙏🏽
