Hi everyone, thanks for joining me on the mat today. I'm going to take you through a pretty standard practice I do before I go riding my horse. I absolutely love horseback riding but unfortunately it has created a lot of tension and stiffness in my lower body. It's important to stretch before and after each ride!
This is an all levels yoga class which will work on opening up your hips and shoulders while stretching deeply through your quads, calves and hamstrings. We'll have a few low back and upper back stretches as well to make this a well rounded yoga flow. No props needed!
I do very low level dressage and jumping but really this is a great sequence for riding of any kind!
I plan on filming a lot more yoga for equestrian classes in the future, hopefully this Summer when I can do it in the pasture with all the horses present :)

Thank you so much for this! Had a seriously overexcited young pony this morning who totally lost her mind being led so I got pulled around a fair bit making sure she doesn’t learn she can get loose from a handler. Really felt it in my hip so knew I needed to stretch out when I got home, but didn’t have time for one of the full hip sessions. Figured this might be a suitable mini-session to tide me over and was not disappointed; amazing relief from the hip tightness/soreness and bonus release along the spine. Will need to do a longer session tonight, however I now feel like I can get on with my day with minimal stiffness and pain which is awesome 🤩

I look fwd to an equestrian series! 🙏 🐴 ♥️ W a h/o R knee surg and L knee meniscus tear, I have to modify saddle pose, but still want the quad stretch: I lie on L side w L elbow under head, & L foot in L hand at L glut w knee/hip/foot in alignment, then switch to R side halfway through.

Hey Kassandra! I love all your videos & the big variety you make 😍 You truly are the only yoga instructor for me ❤ I've been suffering from a cold these past days & I always feel better after doing some yoga to get my blood flowing to all my organs so they can heal. I would love it if you would make a video for colds & coughs to get the body healing 🧘‍♀️ It's so much easier to follow one of yours for 15-30min, when you're not feeling well, than to try it yourself ❤ With all my love & hopes /Sara Friman

I started riding again recently after not having ridden for 12 years. I didn’t stretch before my first lesson and strained both of my hip adductors 🤦🏻‍♀️ This session not only makes me feel SOOO good, but has literally saved my body. Can’t wait to watch more or your videos!! ❤

Instead of thinking "Heels down," try "Toes up." It has the same effect of lengthening the leg and draping your calves around the horse's side *without* the tension created by trying to jam heels down. Thanks for these equestrian practices!

I’m so glad to see this so recently!! I have been really struggling with my balance when I’m riding and even on my own two feet recently and have been trying out yoga as an aid. I’ll be really excited to see more of these 💕
