@@nelisasiko- may I suggest a book that I have found very helpful and have given as a gift numerous times? It’s called “Discover What You’re Best At” by Linda Gale. It assesses your aptitudes, knowledge, skills, desires, etc., to produce a profile of what you can do for a career that you can learn easily, do well at, and enjoy. It’s the most accurate book of this type that I have ever seen. Best wishes to you!

@@nelisasiko bro, I was born in a third world country, did a useless bachelor degree there. almost 10 years ago I packed my life into a suitcase and a backpack. Lived in Köln, Frankfurt, Limerick, Dublin, Milano, Berlin, Canary islands. now packing slowly to move to Zürich or Oslo and make money. self-taught programmer. I speak 6 languages. but so much wasted time, so much grief and misery, feeling lost and being lost. heartbroken since 2 years... but I am still standing bro. they don't know me... and they don't know you. learn and do things for yourself, improve, small steps. you will be alright. no matter how many times you slip or fall - always get back up. life is a just a big test, to see how much you can handle, carry and chew. you can't get through a diploma? ok, then you better be hella good at something else with your hands or mind. or work at McDonald's. but that ain't really you, is it? you are still young, I assume, take your time bro. you will have time for everything in life. peace

This line likely refers to a skill-based context, suggesting that advancing to a higher level or achieving greater proficiency often requires a significant change or improvement in one's character or abilities. In other words, the strategies or qualities that helped you succeed at one level may not be sufficient for the next, necessitating adaptation and growth to progress further.

Thanks a lot Dan, really learned from this one. Favourite ideas: | "Personal growth is a gateway drug into business growth" | "If you aren't getting results, that isn't a sign to quit. It's a sign to improve" | "You cannot reach level 2 with the character that got you to level 1 - growth requires change and that's why most people settle early" | "Becoming multidimensionally jacked is the path to the good life" | "The cure to anxiety is curiosity" | "writing, speaking, marketing, sales are absolute principles which you will have to learn, no matter which business model you go into"

I would say that anxiety in general is by far the biggest thing that stifles people's potential. Social anxiety, existential anxiety, anxiety in all its forms. A mind that never shuts up and defaults to the negative constantly. But more importantly, anxiety is what prevents people from being _happy,_ which is what we all want, and why we want success. And it doesn't have to be loud, clinical anxiety, but that low-level feeling that something is 'off' with life. You can be wildly successful and still have that feeling, and most people do. The Buddha called it "pervasive unsatisfactoriness".
@squamish4244

@@the_myron The gut-brain connection certainly is fascinating. I had an allergen blood test done and found some useful information, like my stomach had problems with dairy - I already knew that - super obvious - peanuts, cashews, and I was gluten intolerant, so now I only buy rye bread. I also eat much less sugar and fat. I wish I could say anxiety is my friend, but it's been a demon for the past 30 years of OCD, then a huge breakdown 17 years ago, then a narcotics addiction (thanks, doc) that destroyed my life 16 years ago. Anxiety has ripped a huge hole in my life for no reason at all. There was nothing I needed to change. Nothing at all. My life was going well, I was successful despite all my struggles. Anxiety by its very nature is wildly irrational. Our brains still think we are in the Stone Age, so they see threats everywhere. Anxiety causes you to worry about meaningless things, or things you can't change, like death. It loops crazily in your head endlessly, tormenting you, crushing the life out of you.

Strange. You heart my comment. And then you take it away? I'm not sure why your opinion has fluctuated. However, taking your advice, I simply don't care what your opinion of me is. When you've worked hard, and you know you've worked hard, nothing penetrates you. Because you yourself know the truth. And you're living the truth on a daily basis. So no matter what anyone says to you, or what anyone does to you, you know the truth. And Noone can penetrate it. I may not have as many subs as you Dan. But I'm not comparing. Perhaps KZbin has yet to recognize me fully. But one day the Internet will behold the quality videos that I pump out. I'll show you, Dan. I'll show the whole world who I am. I will change the world. For I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me. Amen.

One of the things I deal with is peoples cynicism towards self help, productivity, or business. It gives me fear of being shameful of succeeding, because the idea that success equals evilness or greed. I've talked about it with friends and family who are pro "go get it, grow, and start a business" but it is something even though I can consciously know not to listen to the cynics it's a subconscious thing I've picked up on from growing up. The fear of being someone else's blame.

Man, it's tough. I've been working on my business for 4 years, but progress is so slow so I thought I really have to dedicate myself to it if I want to see results. So I'm dedicating myself to it, but it's a lonely path. I don't go out drinking or socialising, I don't meet girls, I don't spend much time on apps. I work my full time job, I exercise, I cook my food, and I work on my business. All in the hopes that one day it will pay off. The cost is great, but it's less than the cost of the regret of knowing I didn't give it my all is greater. But it is difficult sometimes. Christmas and NYE particularly have been difficult.
