I remember watching a video at a BLM protest. A young black woman who was protesting started talking to a black cop, spitting out the usual empty rhetoric at him. He talked reasonably and intelligently with her and after a while she began to talk more naturally, a proper conversation. And I'll always remember this part: he said to her that (paraphrasing) "in a minute one of these white progressive 'allies' will insert herself into our conversation and try to prevent you from talking to me". Sure enough, a obese pink-haired white girl starts pushing her way, talking over her and him, trying to speak on her behalf "she doesn't want to talk to you", etc. A real eye opener. This is my main problem with this show, along with many other debates I find online, is that these people wont be civil debaters! they will talk over each other and won't let themselves finish their points, it becomes a shouting match. you win a debate not only by being the most logical, but the most well mannered and respectful of the view's and opinions of others. Along with that, by allowing the opinions that you don't often hear to be fully stated, you can allow yourself opportunities to understand perspectives that you may not have considered, or the opportunity to rebound of of those completed points, which could allow for more thought out and complete responses and critiques.

Yes, but I think roles like these can be ways for them to get a foot in the door and exposure. Actors are more likely to get roles pitched to, or even created for, them if they display charisma on screen. A lot of actors get their first breaks in crappy, bit roles, but what they do with those roles can project them to greater things. It would have been an easy, and positive, change to add more dimension to the 7 dwarves' roles. Instead, Disney added more dimension to the actors. 🙄 Really crappy.

As far as dwarf parts go, which as Dylan points out are quite rare, I would say that this is T H E job opportunity! Gay people can be any size. Dwarfs can't. How does one recognise a dwarf....by his/her SIZE! I would boycott this film on the dwarf issue alone. But there's also the fact that the main character of the whole story, Snow White, whose name comes from the fact that she has skin 'as white as snow', has been given to someone who doesn't fit the description. James immediately agreed with Dylan once he actually listened to his position. This discussion was done and could have led to more constructive discussions. But then James couldn’t take that his perspective was wrong, and instead of taking the lesson and growing from the experience, he turned to insulting.
