Clearly never visited Suzhou then where every river is green, or Shenzhen, where the old rivereways have largely dried up. Only in Nanshan is there an impressive looking waterway

@@mattydoherty3784I guess you have no understanding of algae, minerals, and mother nature. The dam upriver has to conserve water to generate power, so you get dried-up rivers from time to time. When heavy rain falls, those dry rivers become raging rivers. China has been cleaning up its rivers and land for a while now. They are heavily invested in pollution control. The Yellow River is not polluted either, those are minerals. There is a river that is brownish-black and that is not pollution either.

The best decision of your life! I'm in the UK but it's gone totally insane & I don't belong any more. If I were 50 years younger, with fluent mandarin (& stinky rich) I'd be out there in a flash. I reckon it would take me a life time to appreciate the geography, history, culture & food. Gave up watching what Jason calls the British bull.... company 30 years ago. Now "tour China" through the internet. TBH I prefer the videos made by Chinese - it's their culture, & they get to some very remote places, but support European sites - they need it to get some truth across.

As a country China has done up many places to welcome the visitors. The attention to details is unseen in the west. In this video the railing or fence of the footpath looks like timber but are concrete moulded to blend in with the surrounding. At important view points or objects many signs are available to provide the necessary details. Eating places, wash rooms and resting places are well integrated and structured from day one. So the experience is always enjoyable and affordable. China has a huge domestic market so it is convenient for overseas travellers too. The only complaint I have, as an elder, is many places are strenuous to get to. Anyone who has been to the Great Wall understands my view.
