The inclusion of layers is for me the convincing factor to finally upgrade from RMXP. I've been using MZ for a while now and even though there's a few things I miss from XP, I've got to admit it's a great engine and i'm very happy with it.

RPG Maker MZ does have some things that are better than in MV, but still doesn't have some of the charm that MV has. To me, the colors is what I like about MZ especially the battle animations. At the same time I miss making my own battle animations from scratch, that's part of the charm in MV. However, I do like MZ better mostly because it's easier on my eyes, and it's easier to work with.

it didn't focus on online gameplay and probably didn't add the great F1 feature to fix controls for a controller...

The thing that probably warranted the new engine was the optimizations. Some more features on launch would have been nice, but optimization is a pain so that's probably why they thought it was enough to sell a new engine.

To be honest i have gone through loads of videos to see what makes mz so good to be honest there are a few nice thing but it's just a small upgrade to mv they could have just offered us to upgrade or not they are just trying to make more money out of the deal.

@@jdgoldvox This is definitely true, but, if you dont have MV, Mz might be better... i dunno, still playing with MZ. It's got some out of the box nice little upgrades for sure, but you can do almost anything with YanFly's MV plugins, not to mention the many many others
