@@jennarmentor2833 You can get plant lights at a hardware store-they even make normal lightbulb-shaped ones you can stick in a cheap desk lamp. Or, if you want sexy sexy hydroponics and don’t mind spending some money, you can go with one of the aerogarden-type systems. (Sorry for butting in, I used to be a botanist and still do a lot of indoor growing.)

Thank you for the dry brush tip at the end! You don't know how many times I've been told to wash mushrooms in my adult life. People thought it was weird that I just brushed them off, but that's how my Gramma taught me to clean them.

Your recipes are awesome, too-I am using your shows to teach my young adult sons how to cook and eat well while steeeeeeeetching the grocery budget!

I enjoy those pickled Paris mushrooms (i have no idea why, but in brasil we call them champignon), and I ate them in every way possible. But I never was a fan of any other type of mushrooms... mainly because I ordered them few times in Asian restaurants and I really disliked them. But again, I disliked most of the things those restaurants did, and when I tried doing them in my home, I enjoyed them so much. This made my mouth water. Definitely going to pick some in he next trip to the grocery.

is there a substitute for the white wine? cause alcohol is a no-no in our culture. but I'm a big mushroom lover, so I really wanna try this out.
@roua98824 жыл бұрын
I’m not old enough to buy alcohol here, so I just use lemon or lime juice. I think if you use something acidic and light then it can work!
@khadijamroom4 жыл бұрын
@@roua9882 thanks, I'll take notes of that.

According to The Spruce Eats, it can be substituted with apple cider vinegar, chicken or vegetable broth, apple juice or white grape juice

I once forgot the word for creminis and referred to them as mini 'bellas in front of the wrong person at the grocery store and he snapped at me. Apparently this construction worker in uniform left the cheffing world to make real money after years of being broke but well fed, was offended and needed me to know there is NO SUCH THING as a mini 'bella, ONLY criminis. To complete this whole story, imagine him stomping off in his dusty Kodiak work boots with his orange saftey vest flapping at his sides. Oy.
