Honestly, I like it best when smart characters dumb down their fields to make them accessible. I'm not a GENIOUS but I know programming better than my friend, but I noticed she enjoys reading fanfiction so I explained to her that a Python library is like "if you needed to download a specific Wattpad extension to read BTS fanfic, and another to write BTS fanfic". It isn't a PERFECT definition by any means and there are more nuances to a library, but she understood the essential part, that is libraries do specific things that are necessary in specific situations, like reading an Excel file. I think that what being savy about something is truly about: being able to make people know wtf you're talking about by getting to their level and THEN spitting the weird sounding shit. Like yeah sometimes I say something I expect people to know and they don't, but I'm fairly sure it's common sense nobody memorizes scientific names

Hey, Hollywood? Not every single new student is immediately noticed and/or bullied. I was ignored entirely when I switched schools to the point where I came home crying because I had no friends, which is a nightmare for me. I had to start a thousand awkward conversations that the other person did not want to have until I found a friend. In my old school, when there was a new student, everyone would be all over them trying to figure out who they are and befriend them. Not bully them. Like this happens really, really rarely, yet in Disney movies it happens all the time.

This reminds me of a Goosebumps book I read when I was little. In it, a girl finds a TV remote that can control people sort of like this. She starts by hitting "mute" to get her family to stop asking her to do things, but the next day at school people notice the remote and beg her to let them try it. Overwhelmed, she starts pressing buttons to protect her from the mob of kids, until she hits "off". This turns off the universe, leaving her alone in an empty void. The batteries die, trapping her there. That was how I began to fear death. Good to see Disney bringing terror and dread to a new generation. Girl power!

New idea for Zapped: It starts off normal but really leans into the idea that she *hates* her new family and after her phone gets "zapped", one of her brothers breaks the mind control but has to pretend he's still controlled. He slowly has to figure out how to disable the control on the rest of his family and the boys at school. Now, 2 ideas for endings: 1. He takes the phone and breaks the control over the boys and either she learns that she was wrong, or doesn't. 2. While trying to get the phone, he falls back under the control of the app and it cuts to a dystopian future where his sister rules the world and he's her personal slave. I said no at first, because he didn’t have enough diamonds 💎 & “Marry rando” is a premium choice only 😡….until he revealed his extensive knowledge of bugs, I fell in love on sight 😊. We’ve been together for 65 years. I’m not even worried about his shed full of 40 of the same knives. So it’s totally true, Danny. Bug Knowledge is the trait _everyone_ looks for in a lover. Okay i notice something really weird that happens in like every Disney and Nick movie. So why is it whenever the Main characters parent marries a new person and they all move in together the whole family dynamic is really weird? Like it's almost like these people met last week like did these parents meet last week and just decide to get married? You'd think that they would let the families bond for a significant amount of time or move in together so things aren't as awkward when the actual wedding happens. Also I'm assuming that the parents met in and lived in thr same town before they get married why does one kid have to completely switch schools like why not keep them in their same school district if you can? Idk this always bothered me and I find it really weird that no other KZbinr that watches these movies catch this. 😅

omg yea! I never realized that lol. When my dad got remarried I had prob spent ~a few months-half a year with my mom and new brothers cuz they would just come over every weekend and hang out. We would also call each other in the mornings to wake each other up and all. Plus, when they first met, it was a public park with all of there. It's not like they were just thrown into our lives one day all of a sudden.

What sucks more to me is that the love interest is a Adam from Lab Rats, and I cannot see him as a teen movie’s love interest, not with the goofy and dumb but hyper strong bionic super man he is in Lab Rats
@jocelynecupcake2 жыл бұрын
Disney loved doing that kind of thing with their actors and actresses, especially their male actors. He could be playing a big dumb oaf in one show/movie and then play a love interest in the other. It doesn't help that they always got the 30 year old ladies' men to play the love interests and the more normal teen looking guys to play the nerdy or awkward guys. Come to think of it, the beauty standards on those shows were worse for the guys than for the girls. Me and my friend recently watched that Twister episode of Suite life on Deck (which was a spinoff to Suite life of Zack & Cody) and but Zack and Cody looked more like normal teens, but the guy who played Bailey's ex boyfriend looked 25-30 ish! LOL ^o^ it was kinda funny tho. He was a good actor, i guess that's what mattered. My grandma and I would notice that stuff in a lot of sitcoms, but nobody did it as much as Disney. also I remember Lab Rats being very weird, but I saw an interview with the actors and actress and they seemed so nice and sweet! Like, it's not their fault the show is weird, they just wanted to be on a show that makes kids laugh.

11:05 as someone who read the book this was based on when I was a kid (“Boys Are Dogs”) this is a reference to the sequel (“Girls Acting Catty”). Also the book is way less wild from what I remember, there was no magic to it, the main character just got a dog training book and started to realize the techniques were a good way of dealing with boys too.
