Is anyone else having an issue w/ the audio being off starting w/ a weird visual glitch around 9:50? I rewinded the video, and everything before that is fine. I reloaded as well, and the same thing happened

As an Alaskan commercial fisherman I spent my summers on an island without electricity. The gameboy was my only electronic entertainment during that time. I love the gameboy. It has a great library of games. Link's Awakening, Final Fantasy Adventure, Final Fantasy Legend 3, Mario Land 3: Wario Land, and more. Love this game, love this system, love you guys. Keep doing what you're doing!

To be fair, it's the ONLY puzzle in the game that is like that, and I don't know of any other Zelda game with a puzzle like that. Part of the appeal of Zelda games, at least to me, is that you can never permanently mess anything up, you can always come back to something later and get that last piece of heart. This one, nope, if you get a chest, you'd better get all the others, or you'll never get to get them ever. Sure, you're the only one who will ever know that you didn't get them all, but I've restarted games from the beginning for less.

9:28 I think James messed up here. It's not that Peach is called Christine, Christine is the goat character that was sending letters to the other character, and at one point he says "look, she enclosed a picture of herself!" But she cheated and put her name on an image of Peach instead.

Buzzclip R Are you talking about the place you go to redeem the shells you've collected? There is a game you can play in there?? Never knew that. If I didn't have so many games to play, I'd replay 'Link's Awakening', Right now, paying 'Contra 4', and it's a bitch. Next, either 'Dead Space 3' (got for under $10) or 'Resident Evil: Revelations 2'. Play either of those? Heard that they aren't as good as their predecessors.

Yes. You can trade your 'B' item for the boomerang and back as many times as you want. Here's a tip: the shovel is needed for digging up secret seashells around the overworld. Once you get enough secret seashells (20) to upgrade your sword at the seashell mansion, the shovel is pretty much useless (unless you want to spend all day digging holes in the ground for rupees and hearts. But there's plenty of grass and bushes to cut down for that). After upgrading your sword, trade the shovel for the boomerang and never look back. There are about 25 secret seashells throughout the game, but you only need 20 to upgrade your sword. Some seashells are hidden inside treasure chests in dungeons, but once you upgrade your sword those chests only contain rupees and you can't find any of the extra seashells you missed after upgrading.

Give that to a croc for Bananas. A monkey will give you a stick for that... which you use to get a honeycomb. A chef will give you a pineapple for the honey. The old man is hungry.. give him the pineapple for a Hibiscus. Goats love the taste of that, and will give you a letter. Trade that for a broom. The poor sweeping lady will give you a fishing hook for that. The fisherman will give you a Necklace for that. Give the necklace to a mermaid for a scale. Put the scale in a statues mouth for a lens. Inside a cave you can finally trade the lens for.... well play the game and find out. :3

About that room with the treasure chests that James was talking about: that is actually not a glitch, that's a puzzle that's triggered the moment you open one of them. There's a specific pattern that you're supposed to move the rocks so that you can claim all the treasures, but you have to do it in one visit to the room, the moment you step outside the cave any unopened chests are forfeit.

I remember founding out that thing about the The legend of Zelda when I was a kid. But did you ever find out why the bombs don't always hit darknuts? That's because the bomb can hit their shields. If you like place the bomb left of you the explosion will attack from darknut right side and if he is facing right the shield will block the explosion. That is why placing bombs towards walls always work since enemies always face away from the wall when they meet it.

ok I have to comment again! I played this game a LOT in my holidays when we visited other beautiful countrys in Europe and my parents constantly yelled at me too look out of the window. All I would do is taking a quick look and than dive back into that game. I missed so much because of this game but I swear the memories I gained playing it are still greater!

I'm not sure is because we didn't know better back then. Equipping those things is part of the game, is something you're required to do. You could argument that there ar other things that could be removed because they're not fun or they stop your progress... and then you end with modern gaming. Anyway, I'm not saying the games are perfect but times change and *we change*; that alone doesn't make a game worse.

+okagron That is the reason I stopped playing Link's Awakening. You have to keep constantly switching to the bracelet. Confused the hell out of me even if you adapted to the other games where you didn't have to switch to them you just pick the heavy object out the way after getting the gauntlets.

The trick that Mike is trying to explain involves two types of enemies in the same room. If you have, say, two Darknuts and two Pols Voice in the same room, you can defeat the Pols Voice and leave the room. When you re-enter, the game will distribute out the enemies again, turning at least one of the Darknuts into Pols Voice. Also, if you leave one enemy alive, the other enemies won't respawn when you return.

If you put a bomb on the ground bomberman style as the dodongo's approach you they will eat them. It's still a pain cause half the time they turn like a millisecond beforehand. I grew up with Gameboy. I had every one the original, the GB Pocket, GBA, and on into the DS. I have always kind of prefered handheld games for some reason, but I never really played them "on the go" maybe in the car when I was a kid, but now as an adult if I'm out doing something I'm busy. I still love handheld games though. I think it's just the freedom of being whereever you want with right in your hands. I love the little cartridges and how you can neatly pack it all away. Idk.. guess I'm strange that way. I'm so excited for the Switch. It's like a childhood dream of mine.

Mine too. Really a hidden gem, LA is a beautiful game. As i recall, LA was actually supposed to be something of a watered down LttP port that the LttP dev team sorta worked on in their off hours. This is why much of the geography is similar to LttP's. But they realized at some point that the story wanted to be its own thing, separate and distinct from LttP, so got permission to treat it as such and diverge from the LttP storyline. I don't actually know if that's true or not, but I like the idea that it wanted to be its own story, in a way.

Still, everything they asked for, as far as sitting at home and playing it like a console, is called "Emulate it on a PC you hook up in your livingroom with a controller attached". It's the most comfortable experience tbh, the only thing you sacrifice is the nostalgia... yet, you gain comfort AND video quality AND recording ease.
