Oh you two are the most adorable pair on the internet. I love this channel, it's so wholesome. Also, I've gained much needed weight since watching this, saved god knows how much money from making my own versions of things, and I've also got a decent set of pans (with wok) for the first time in my life.

Hi guys would like to say a massive thank you for all your content, I'm a dad of 4 and ordering take away is sometimes super expensive and I'm shocking at cooking, the wife does it all. I love these chips when ordering take away. I'm glad I came across your super easy to follow videos. Just let you know I have just completed the chips and they was unbelievable I can't belive how good they was, I've purchased all the ingredients for the following from your videos. Pepper chili chips Chicken satay on skewers Crispy chili chicken Egg fried rice. I need to get a deep fat frier to make it even easier! Keep up the good work.

You guys need more love I worked in a great Chinese for just over 3 years and learned a lot and your presentation on these vids are amazingly good. Big man, stress less of the world, you have amazing mum support which is the biggest thing

Tell your mum not to worry about her English, she's still very understandable when she speaks. My mum's been in the UK for 25 years and even she has her days of mispronouncing stuff. Edit: also i subbed, look forward to seeing you recipes :)

Thank you for the recipe. I didn't have chunky chips nor green peppers so used red peppers and lidl fries... but it turned out great! Love you guys, your video's are fantastic and insightful!! ❤️

Just made my first ever full Chinese’s takeaway at home I made special fried rice chicken balls salt pepper chips and prawn toast all from your recipes also o Bought your book so it will make it easier .. although I spent almost 3 hours cooking and cleaning included

Really like the new setup with the static camera pointing down at the prep area, much easier to watch than the handheld footage. Only minor complaint would be the aduio when the pan is on, difficult to hear you guys - could do with a lapel mic? Will definitely be trying this recipe out :D

I've just made this and it's delicious. I've tried to make salt and pepper chips before using a dodgy recipe off a popular website and it was awful. I now know that SAND GINGER IS THE BEST FLAVOUR EVER. There are no substitutes for it.

They look great, thanks for sharing - I might give these a try as we had some last night from our local takeaway. My son wasn't keen though - because they'd put onions in the dish, so I'll omit the onions for him and then add the cooked onions at the end for us :) x

I will use my air fryer to do the chips. However, would I be okay to use sunflower oil to pan fry the vegetables, garlic and seasoning? or is vegetable oil a must?

Because of world events spices that are imported are hard to get, but we are due a shipment in Friday, hopefully it’s on there as we won’t know until it gets to us

Yeah normally there brilliant but these just didnt hold there shape, i have a feeling the feeling waiting to take photos etc made them so soft, theres like 30 mins of clear down etc to do before we taste taste for videos

Have tried to get Sand Ginger all over the place. My nearest Indian store has natural Ginger powder called Sonth/Soonth/Saunth. Is this it or can you advise where to purchase it?

My favourite takeaway does them with a bit of fresh chilli diced in. Even some local Indian takeaways have added a version of salt and pepper chips to their menus. They do there's with the Indian takeaway style chips too. Different flavours to chinese takeaway style, but still very tasty.

Here in Lincoln the recipe is a little different but identical in every take-away... Tesco skanky chips, salt, pepper and two or three micro slices of green pepper and onion... Done. If you can see the onion and bell pepper slices.... Its your lucky day. Will deffo do it at home your way from now on. Thanks. 👍

I've never seen that on a takeaway menu round here (Essex) but it looks awesome so I'm eager to give it a go. Best frozen chips IMO are Lidl triple cooked chips (fried), I don't use anything else now. Nice to see you doing recipe videos again.

@Griggsy They're in most Chinese take aways round here. Midlands. Even if it isn't just ask and I'm sure they'll do it. If asked when it wasn't on the menu and they made it for me.

How long do you let the chips sit, between first and second frying? Do you let them go cold? Regarding the chips, I actually find it quite difficult to find frozen frying chips in the supermarket, they seem to assume everyone wants oven chips. I hate them!

Love that use MSG. I hate that people talk about it like it’s a chemical. They have no clue what it’s even made from or how it’s made!

Yeah and then when they do they reference outdated research or say things that don't even make sense like natural msg is ok, your body can't tell the difference lol

@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop I just love that people don’t realise there’s more MSG in a serving of broccoli than you would ever add to your food. I think it was just misinformation set out by salt companies just like sugar did with other forms of sweeteners. There’s been plenty of studies now to prove that there’s no problem with using MSG in moderation. Also that it was way safer on the body than salt.

I completely blagged this a couple weeks ago and it was good, not amazing but close. I did use szechuan pepper simply because I liked the taste and dimension it offered. I also prefer the onion and pepper sliced in thin strips as opposed to chopped. I used regular powdered ginger, how does that fare as a substitute for the sand ginger?

hey ricky and choo..hope u been all good and safe...been busy here trying to keep myself out of debt..all good so far...keep up the faith u got alot of following...tonight is jumbo pancake rolls and barbecue sauce...just gutted that these cant be frozen only freshly made...no biggie these are the bestand have accepted it lol.

god vid chin, i use aviko 9/16 chips, as that's what most takeaways near me use, what do you use, , also, can you help me, when i make them the final products, seems to go soft and not crispy n any advice, is it cooking too long in wok, or too much oil

Have you double fried? Best isnto leave to cook for 2 to 3 hours

I've only seen these once, on the menu of a Chinese takeaway not far from Manchester Airport. And I got them out of fascination for how something could be more than twice as expensive as the regular chips, with the addition of two usually free ingredients. Well, there was a tiny bit more to it than that, but that particular one: oh... extremely salty. I sooo regretted not getting two portions of regular chips.
