I have a question 🤔 I've been working on for a while . Is the " vocal one take " Really that big of a deal 🤔. When you consider their live album and the live from Atlas video of who is gonna be the one .... I would argue that the concert recordings are far more amazing because all 4 of the band members are nailing it under more adverse conditions then the studio. I donno just a thought.

Normally, I wouldn't recommend Judgement & Punishment as your 2nd song to react to, but since you do what you do, that would probably be the best one, since there is a one take vocal performance of it which is focused on Tati through the whole song. Just Tati and a mic...and a cuddly guest.

At around 8:23 you can hear that they've added a second pitch shifted layer to her scream/growl in post-production and at that particular moment in the video you hear both her real voice and the post produced lower pitched layer separate from each other. She's still a phenomenal growler/screamer, it's just that most people seem to believe it's a pure live performance with no post production. I don't care about the post-production since I know the difference between "live session" and "live performance" (I've been writing music and played the guitar, keys etc., recorded/mixed music etc. since the early 90'ies), it's an artistic choice in order to create a specific sound/mood. Her live performances does sound different (still brutal and heavy) from this particular recording. I really wish I knew how they got that guitar to sound like it does during the calm parts. It's not just a simple chorus effect with some modulations. It's like a calm bubbly brook when the ice thaws in early spring effect going on.
@ZoeStibiVocalCoach3 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you for such a detailed comment. I hadn't heard that, but you can tell that this has been cleaned up a lot. I am sure that they run her mic through a few processors as well, it never hurts and gives a fuller sound.

Pisces is the Zodiac sign of the duality of two opposing fish, hence the two different ways Tatiana sung the song, (that's just for this song). The two opposing character's of a Pisces are shown by Tati's vocal change's. Btw, Tatiana & the Bassist Eugene Abdukhanov are both Pisces so Eugene helped Tati with the lyrics. {As a fellow Kiwi, I am proud of you, especially to have the "kahunas" to start your own Channel, you really are an inspiration already!} Thank you for looking @ this song of Jinjer's, they have great one's: I love their songs "I Speak Astronomy" & "Perrenial", I wish you all the best Zoe -from a fellow kiwi!.

In every reaction to this song there is one line: "I wasn`t expecting this!" - and there must be hundreds of reaction videos up to now! 🤣🤣🤣 But - and that is the most important fact: Surprise is one tool in Jinjers songs, actually almost in every of their songs you must confess something like "I didn`t expect this"! What I so love about Jinjer is that they always take you on a journey. If you don`t believe me, check out "Teacher, Teacher", "I Speak Astronomy" or "Perennial" (here the live version from Wacken), ah yeah, and don`t forget "Judgment and Punishment", especially the vocal one take! At least these are the recommendations following "Pisces". But - actually - choose any of their songs, you probably won`t get a bad example. As many people before stated: "Jinjer is incapable to write a bad song"... 😁👍 So, if you want see her closely singing and screaming, definitely choose "Judgement and Punishment" next because there you see her in profile the whole song (without any switches of the camera!)

Tatiana is epic. The one-take of Judgement & Punishment is awesome, but definitely check out a concert video at some point too. Perennial live at Wacken is the most popular, but Sit Stay Roll Over live in Melbourne has the most epic vocal tricks of any performance they've released - high, medium, and low growls (Most of their songs just use high and medium - Who Is Gonna Be The One official live and Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev are two others where she goes really low, as well as Home Back where the official video is too epic to miss), switching from growls to cleans in an instant and from cleans to growls in mid-line, and belting. Not a reaction request, but since you have dug into some of Tati's other stuff, here is a video of her singing 22 minutes of Latin-infused Nirvana with a side project band before they had to leave their homes due to the war in eastern Ukraine (Home Back is about the situation with the war and is incredibly powerful, btw) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hInMYZqem5iYqbc. Also, if you want a really deep dive, there is a print interview with Psychology Today that Tatiana did which has a huge amount of her and the band's journey.
