Those were some nice fish! Congrats on that big hybrid. How does the Daiwa Certate compare to that Stella? Thanks for the video!
@AikenAngling16 күн бұрын
@@Paul_T843 thanks Paul! So I actually prefer both the new certate and the new twin power to the current Stella. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing reel, but similar to how when a new car comes out you gotta let them work out the kinks for a couple years before buying one. For example, they put all their new tech in the Stella every 5 years, and then trickle that tech down to the other reels like the twin power. So the twin power is honestly a more refined version of the 2022 Stella if that makes any sense. I thought the twin power felt much stronger myself. But the certate is still my fav. It’s right in that sweet spot of light and strong. Just so much fun to catch fish on!
@Paul_T84316 күн бұрын
@AikenAngling, that does make sense. Thanks! My local Cabela's and Academy don't carry any Shimano or Daiwa spinning reels over $250 so I haven't gotten to play around with any of the high end reels. I appreciate your feedback.

Nice video , I enjoyed it. Don’t take it the wrong way but may I suggest few things. 1. Use pliers to prevent hooking yourself while unhooking 2. Use inline sinker for better casting distance 3. Stripped bass don’t do well being out of water specially during hot summer months compared to other fish. It stressed them out quickly hence the yellowis reddish appearance. Other than that, keep doing what you doing

Hey Aiken, me and my buddy’s watch your videos all the time and we fish the Ross Barnett spillway a lot to. I was wondering if you had any budget surf rod recommendations so I can cast closer to the gates
@AikenAnglingАй бұрын
@@LandonisFishing until recently, I hadn’t found any decent cheap ones, but as of the last year or so there’s some decent options out there. For $80 the daiwa EM cast is pretty sweet, and for $50 the academy “h2o” brand surf rods will definitely work and you can get them locally! Hope that helps! But I will say that ever since I started using Black Hole USA Suzuki special rods, I haven’t found anything else I like more for the money. The Suzuki special 1 is around $200-240 and the 10 foot is perfect for our spillway, but the Suzuki special 2 9-1/2 foot is the ultralight version and it’s my favorite. It’s a little more expensive at $300, but I like it more for this purpose than any other rod I’ve used. All that said, you definitely don’t need nice gear to catch fish, but I prefer the black holes over anything else
@edwinwong5189Ай бұрын
I don't like the new OEM drag on the Exists. It always seems to be giving line. The concept is easy light inertia then tightening up. But I don't want the drag to be moving when it doesn't need to be... Especially where I fish in salt when there is rocks and coral in play. I change the drags out to carbon fiber with Cal's grease. Smooth, dependable, predictable, and tight when I need it.
@AikenAnglingАй бұрын
@@edwinwong5189 to be honest, I’ve bought several reels that I like way more than the exist since I filmed this vid. It’s a fun reel, but feels overall “weak” to me.
