Why is he grinding after welding? It erodes metal and makes joints weak.

Can you share the wiring schematic for behind the radio. I have this same car and I have three plugs not used. I know I’m not connected to the DVD player, but I would like to connect my factory rear view camera. Thanks if you could share.

I am a tradesman who has worked with , and owned , bandsaws for over 50 years. I never worked with a WATER cooled bandsaw but I have worked with many dozens of Oil lubricated / cooled saws. If you changed out the pump you could have something that would not rust and would do the job much better.

I've got a 2001 Silverado that I need to do this to. When making Formica countertops, I learned to place some supports across the subsurface to keep the mica from falling onto it. I used some 1/2" PVC pipe for supports. This should allow you to fold the glued material into place above the backer and rub it down little by little and pull out the supports as you work your way to the end. Looks like your method worked fine but I tend to overdo things a little when it comes to things I don't do often.

Hi! I might had the same issue. I'd like to share what i discutere. First thing first I'm a newby. I was cutting a 24TPI on my new lathe using the thread dial indicator. I had issue re entering the lead screw in the same place when re engaging. I did some research and it appears that you cant use the metric TDI on a metric leadscrew to cut imperial thread and viceversa. Now I cut the thread without disengaging the leadscrew to avoids the wrong re entering with the TDI (now it works). Hope it helps someone

Thanks so much for the info. I was able to replace mine in the vehicle. 94 Chevy Astro van. It was a bit tight but I managed to do it. Getting the screw in and pulling it out was a pain. I ended using the old snap ring cuz the one in my kit flew somewhere in the engine compartment. Naturally after I finished and started the vehicle it fell out on the ground LMAO!!!!! Old one works fine so no worries.

Congrats on getting hired. Yes agree the trades you mentioned are in big demand. I enjoyed watching you setting up the lathe and doing screw cutting. Admire your determination 100%. As a former toolmaker ( very early career) and retired mechanical design engineer, I am looking for something to do also - re the income and price increases. Alas the jobs for me are limited due to my area. (N.Ireland) but still looking. I look forward to watching your videos (if you get the time !!! ) Cheers

Hello Sir. would you by any chance have a ** part number ** for Martin 40H15H sprocket ??? I can't find it on Martin's website, thank you

Some motors use 2 capacitors for a high torque start. A 2x-3x start cap in parallel to the 1x run cap to get a higher torque start, then electronically disconnect the start cap and let the run cap work on its own. There are solid state relays that will engage the second cap for 2 or 3 seconds at power-on without the need for a centrifugal switch.

,Papa, I am sure you know to keep those change gears greased before you start it will quiet your m/c a bit , DO NOT run with dry gears. 2 make sure that the spindle bearings are properly torqued many of these asian m/c's have been shipped with untightened bolts and will give a rough thread, also poor thread pickup can be caused a small amount of end float on the lead screw this the apron to move slightly left and right. I like that you are not afraid to show how things went bad.

I took a piece of a 2x4 that was maybe 1" x 1.5" sawed a deep kerf into it and simple just dropped down on the blade at the rollers leaving the cutting area it acts like a wick and drops most of the coolant straight down instead of it going around the blade im thinking u can put a clamp on the wood block and adjust the wicking action so far works pretty good

I’ve done quite a a bit of welding and fabricating but Tig is a mystery to me, but now that I’m retired it’s on my head list of stuff I want/need to learn. I like the insects you’re creating, keep at it.

You will like it. I have one just like it. I TIG and stick weld with it. Also arc gouge with it. Mine has a cooler also. You will need an 80-90 amp service for it to fully utilize it.

neoprene "tires" on the blade drive and idle wheels ,,!! ..a MUST to keep the blade on ..!! and QUALITY bi-metal brand name blades ..!! ..I've owned and operated mine for almost 20 years and it's still going ..probably the best $169.00 I've ever spent ...!! ..i did have to replace the chinese drive motor ..with a USED domestic made motor i picked up at a yard sale several years ago ..I use a portable spray mist apparatus ("KOOL MIST") for coolant system when I'm cutting exotic alloys ,,much less messy than flood coolant as the guides and guards are not designed to accommodate flood without potential leaks ..i also designed a feed control system using a sliding weight attached to the horizontal upper blade housing ...anyway ...pretty good small saw ...

In an effort to eliminate tires getting the valve stems ripped out I built mine with tracks. It steers like a bobcat and is powered by a 8hp gas engine. I'm in process of building the same design with electric motors. This will reduce the height dramatically and be much quieter. This design is much smaller, and eliminates the need for a swivel wheel.

My failings at threading is not having any decent lathe tools. And not being able to see the inside of the external thread. I can really fxxk up loads of metal , whilst trying to make something, but I did learn something today whilst using the lathe, it is to UNDO all the cog nuts BEFORE removing the cogs from mesh. Otherwise you have to put them back together and try again, there is nothing to stop the shafts going freely.😢😊
