Yes. It does turn plastic slightly glossy. That depends on how long you hold the heat to the plastic. A little at a time. And a glossy spot on your plastic looks a lot better than the scratches. And there are ways to doll the gloss as well. Heat is the best solution to plastic scratches.

I use KBS Coatings Diamond coat to finish off the headlights. Permanent clearcoat that is flexible too; hard to beat. never have to do it again! Great video

you are basically making the vehicle almost like brand new depending on a person perspective. I say that vehicle will be trusted going long distance when it comes to driving after you are done with fixing it up.

The restoration works really well, but don’t use the clear coat from rustolium as it makes them very hazy and cracks start to form. As the same thing happened to me. Just start from a lower grit sand paper than 600 and repeat the process in video again and it should get rid of clear coat. To seal it I would recommend checking out Scotty killmers video on restoration headlights his product is good as he mentions in his video

The question is how much would you charge the owner who would need to have this done to his BMW? BMW are known to be bottomless pits when it starts to need repairs. Thats why a joke has been made that BMW stands for "Bei Mercedes Weggenworfen".

Another protective option is to use spray wax. It doesn't last, but ever time I wash my car, I spray wax on the headlights. Of course you have to actually do it.

DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN!!! OMG. Too much heat people. Use a hair dryer. It takes longer, but much safer.
