I don't think the Others take Craster's sons because there are no women, but because there are no men. In ASOIAF, it's the men that go off to war and die, leaving the women and children behind. The Others seem to be able to live for hundreds of years, if not outright immortal, and if that is the case, they'd probably have a similar reproduction cycle to the Children of the Forest who live for hundreds of years and probably have children spread out over decades. If that's the case, the Others were probably left with very few men and children, needing people like Night's King and Craster to give up their sons to help repopulate their ranks. We only refer to the Others as men, because one of Craster's daughter-wives said they were. Someone may not have necessarily seen the Others, but aware that Craster gives his sons to them. We're assuming that because of what she said, they're all magically turned into what the Others look like, therefore assuming that there are no female others. I could be wrong and there are no female Others and the transformation is entirely magical, it is a fantasy. But I don't think that's entirely the case.

If those worm creatures had human like faces and hands then my theory is that she went to Southoryos - and more specifically, she was taken to Gogossos. First, why would she go to Sothoryos? Bc there was a female dragon rider who is claimed to be the only person who flew over Sothoryos farther than anyone else - no doubt a girl like Aerea had heard tales of this adventurous female dragon rider and saw her as her idol and wanted to follow in the footsteps of her idol and hero. Second, why Gogossos? So that’s why I’m curious to know whether those worms’ faces that killed Aerea could in any way be described as humanoid. As a Sansa fan….well I’m definitely for some version of an ending with Sansa doing well in a position of great power! (Queen in the North!) To use this flimsy excuse to Segway…… Regarding the show, while I have my own ideas of the could have dones (and fan fic to end ASOIAF) I think the following are some of my main in retrospect pointers: - early on, I’m not sure if it is unfair to expect the showrunners to figure out that the Bravvos arc might be something to cut out. Early enough to not bother having a Faceless man in season 2. But I’d definitely have Arya and the Hound teamup with Brieanne and Pod. - have lady Stoneheart - don’t bother with Robert Strong/return of Gregor at all. - bronn should not return to the story after season 4. - have the Tysha reveal, and Varys staying in Kings Landing - have the full valenqar prophecy - kill Varys and Baelish in season 5 - if you are going for a simplified Dorne arc, have Arys Oakenheart sneak into Dorne to get Myrcella, the Sand Snakes not planning revenge, but really, really angry, Ellaria gives a version of her book speech, and Arys accidentally kills Myrcella - be MUCH more willing to use, explore, and explain what magic is and how is works in this setting - don’t have Dany return to the Dothraki Sea - Have the reveal Tyrion is a secret Targaryen - Jorah should die in Essos - Bran should arrive at Winterfell at the end of season 6. R+L=J is revealed, Jon is proclaimed King, and takes the name Stark. - if you are going to use time travel, figure out ways to not have it make the choices of the characters who are not Bran meaningless. - However you wish, arrange for the destruction of Kings Landing before Dany returns to Westeros, and have her go to White Harbor. - Both battles of Winterfell should be meat grinders. Between the two of them, most of the important secondary characters should end up dead. - Brieanne should be one of those who die in the second Battle of Winterfell. Have Jaime learn of the prophecy, and make the rest of his arc struggling with it (however it ends up). - however you arrange it, have an ending where: . Jon is not King . Dany is not Queen . They are not married to each other, or Dany is pregnant with a dead Jon’s child. . Bran is “on top” (this doesn’t even have to mean he has the formal title of King)

My issue with the ways they apply feminist analysis to asoiaf is its very shallow. They do not care about the material circumstances of women and how that might drive their behaviour. They have no understanding or sympathy for what the common experience of a woman in that world would be like, in fact they don't even believe lowborn lives have any value period. Their feminist analysis includes no intersectionality. Women can infact inflict harm on others in regards to race, class etc which is something that you can criticise every single character on, including Daenerys. You can argue "well its just a fictional story so who cares" but if they can insult others and assume their politics then why can't I reverse it and throw it back at them? In fact I think the reason their takes are so bad is because they are incapable of viewing these characters as solely fictional.
