It's funny hearing braben talk about how the industry didn't see what they were looking at and that frustrated him... Ironically, I think the same thing about his game today on how it's such a marvel and virtual reality, and yet they've abandoned probably one of the most immersive features of their game for their on foot play. That's frustration

Si Gary Kildall hubiese emprendido el desarrollo de un Sistema Operativo con interfaz de usuario gráfica cómo lo había hecho Apple con MacOS en 1984, Commodore con su AmigaOS en 1985 y Microsoft con Windows también en 1985, el cuento sería distinto. Un Sistema Operativo 100% (nada que ver con el GEM que habían desarrollado) con interfaz de usuario gráfica salido de Digital Research, Kildall se durmió en ese punto, sería un gran competidor para Microsoft y tendría una cuota importante del mercado de Sistemas Operativos para PC's. A mi criterio tenía talento para todo lo relacionado con sistemas operativos pero le faltaba un poquito de la mentalidad de innovación e ideas de Steve Jobs.

Lines aren’t trivial indeed. But 2 months to create parallel lines?! Sounds a bit much. You need to subtract the offset on the X where both X and Y increase in relation to the previous line’s point. And you will need to add offset to C when X is decreasing and Y is increasing. So it is basically Pythagorean algebra distance = (A’ + B’ + C) / sqrt(A^2 * B^2) You know A and B and C and the distance you want the line to be. So it seems rather trivial to my understanding- but I sucked at math. So perhaps I’m overlooking something. But 2 months still sounds a lot.

A friend came round with this game - we loaded it onto my BBC micro. Jaw-dropping stuff. Even years later, I can still remember the feeling. I never made it to Elite but I had a lot of fun trying!
