I wonder where iI have to watch color graded video so it would look better? So far on iphone all examples of log color graded vs normal hdr video look somewhat pale to me especially if put side by side. I can understand 10bit coding is saving highlights and shadows to recover in post but end result usually make me think “what? It is supposed to look better than normal hdr (after post) not worse!”

Hello Evan, after i import the clips to davinci from premier, there are sevral clips who arent found in the TL, as davinci doesnt even inport these clips into the prject. why is that? then even after i import the clip myself, i cannot link it to the clip which davinci tells me is missing, as davinci doesnt give me the option to do so. Do you know why or how to fix this ?

What a great comparison! My experience: You would wish that the said value -4 would be a -6. The current Flog2C color space generally does a lot right in red tones and makes skin tones “less critical”. And yes. The sensor does not get bigger with better LUTs. On the other hand, you can almost put the Fuji in your pocket and always have this great performance with you. For me, the topic of DSLMs is increasingly moving towards a complete replacement for classic film cameras. In times when B2B customers have less and less desire and money for the really big tools, but still want to maintain a high visual standard.

Do y'all have anything for Nikon N-LOg

I normally use Dlog color space with HLG gamma curve. Works surprisingly well. But I really would like to have it properly color managed.

Can I use other filters or am I stuck with the filters that come with this matte box?

Had to turn off the sound for the background "music" and read CC which is difficult when you're trying to look at images...a common issue for folks with tinnitus, hearing loss, hearing aids, autism, or brain injury. Most young'uns won't notice it at all, but in the end I wasn't able to make it through an otherwise most excellent video.

hi I've purchased the S log pack and they are indeed very good! A question: my video consists of footage from A7, DJI Action 5, DJI drone and iPhone. Can I use your "creative" cuts such as Cine and simply apply them to the whole video using an Adjustment Layer? Because every LUT in the package has the S-log3 message in the file name! I can see why they make sense to restore the colours, but for the creative ones, maybe OK to use on footage from other cameras?

I came across the video while looking for a video head for planespotting. In the introduction I saw that you can mount a gimbal. My question: Can you follow aircraft taking off and landing with a video head and gimbal? Can I use the 24mm on Sony A7iii ?

for the lightning of the face, the reality of shooting videos is the object moves a lot. How do you deal with that, tracking the face that keeps moving but not in subtle ways? sometimes the track will make the power window bigger or smaller and that makes the grading of the face noticable.

I'm totally new to all of this. I shoot for a lot of creatives (artists/influencers/musicals) and want to create higher quality media/content/videos that are color graded. What program are you using? Is the D-Log/D-LOG M an additional purchase or included in the DJI? What program are you using to edit? Are there any free/low cost editing tools to color grade for a beginner that can't currently afford to purchase a high priced subscription/software yet?

What I love about Fujifilm, is just that we get those updates on the cameras that we already own (I love all the firmwareupdates I got on my X-H2S, especiallythe red record box, the AF tap to focus in video and now this!). Of course it would be awesome to have the same profiles made available on older cameras aswell. (Where they wouldn't necessarily add more image quality due to the sensor limitations, but would still make it easier to use them as B-cameras with the same color profile, for even easier shotmatching.)

Do you overexpose and treat D-log in the same manner as say S or C log ? I find myself having trouble correcting the shadows on Dlog even when I see the histogram isnt peakingthere.

Real nice vid! Can I ask a question from the Sony A7II point of view? So the workflow applied to your camera would be the same to Sony A7 camera results if I shoot in S-Log3 but with appropriate Sony LUTs? And the first thing I need to do is Apply Log to rec-709 and then apply LUTs in the next node in Davinci? I hope I'm being clear. Just learning how to do all this fancy coloring with LUTs work. Would it make sense to apply all of your color correction on the clips, and then apply the film look and color grade on the timeline? And do you need to transform the color space back out of Cineon to Gamma 2.4?

Hey man! Shooting on red next week and want to test out my new xh2s to pair with red. Do you recommend to film in flog2c or flog2? Is flog2c that much better? Does flog2 & flog2c work well together with other Fuji cameras that don’t offer flog2c? Thanks!
