Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

I have a question for you. Well i always wanted to sell them but after watching videos on it I didn’t want any part of it. Reason being was because all the other soapers make this blend of sorts up and they all use noodles and pretty much the same recipe give or take a little. I asked someone if u can make a shampoo bar out of cold process soap and basically was annoyed that I could ever ask such a question. Lol, can I please ask u, what is the difference between making cold process soap for a shampoo bar and the kind of shampoo bar they make? Why r they all saying it can not be cold process or hot process u need to use this noodle thing and use a bath bomb press? But then again they also said “ u can’t make shave soap u less u do a hot process with 2 different lyes and that’s Bull shit! Cause me and my customers shave w my soap’s every day. N you don’t advertise them as such but I formulated my bar to be a gorgeous, silky dense lather n it is. I luv lather! Lol if u can help me out with an answer cause I would luv to do this and formulate my own cold process or melt n pour shampoo bar. Thank u🖤

You're the one who taught me to "like" videos. If I watch, I like. It also lets me know that I've already seen it. More importantly it's a small way to thank you. Thank you for all soapy things and everything. You're the best.

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. If possible could you please do a future tutorial on making the melt & pour base, partially focusing on the dual lye percentage rates. How much glycerine to use, as I'm guessing with these percentage rates. Again thanks Mrs Soap & Clay...Greetings from Ireland.

I meant to ask on your first video - How do you feel about someone selling shampoo bars made using your recipe? If you're alright with it, is there a specific way you'd like them labeled to give you credit for the original recipe?

Is "circle wash" a thing? When you ask a german soaper they will tell you that you have to use at least 3 different shampoo bars to avoid that your hair get's "used" to the recipe and get strange

Hey! I've heard that about all products, really. Like you have to switch up what type of hair spray you use every month or so because your hair gets used to it and it doesn't work as well. Heard that about skincare as well. I don't personally follow that rule, but it IS a thing!
