@@ezerlarosa6913 Spicy foods stimulate an endorphin rush, more so in people with a lower tolerance to it, but still to a degree in those used to it. Spicy food boosts metabolism, which in turn burns calories, and may be attributed to burning belly fat. However, you have to realize that the body is complex, and no food will burn fat from a single part of the body. The body doesn't burn fat incrementally, it takes energy from whichever part of the body it deems useful. Spicy foods have also been shown to reduce the risk of cancer in communities who regularly eat spicy cuisine. One caveat to spicy food is that those who consume spicy food usually consume more carbs as a result. Also, one way of alleviating mouth burn is with sugar; that's infact how the Scoville scale was created. So, if you choose to cool off your spicy food with a sugary beverage, then you've defeated health benefits.

This is a great list. Learned some new tricks and was reminded or affirmed of some I knew. I would add two more that I've found helpful, especially for people who have difficulty avoiding carbs. Overnight oats using water and adding cinnamon and Walden Farms Maple Syrup (I usually eat a cup of oats which is 300 calories). And then stove popped popcorn with nutritional yeast. It's about 400 calories from popping 5 tbsp and using a tbsp or so of olive oil. Nutritional yeast gives it a cheddary taste and packs nutrients and low in calorie. Both will keep you full for quite a while and high in fiber, nutrients and decent protein for a carb.

Exactly, it’s best to avoid the dieting mindset altogether. Re: pickles, they are pretty easy to make at home. You don't need to can them for long-term shelf storage, just make pickles that can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 months. These do not need as much salt, and you can customize the flavorings to your liking by adding things like mustard seed, garlic, and a large variety of fresh herbs. The same technique can be used to pickle other veg like carrots, garlic, onions, and asparagus.

A nice trick, that helped me and probably others too is related to late night snacks.
