2009 - 2017 Ford Flex HVAC Recirculation Door Actuator Replacement

Thanks for taking the time to make the video and explain the repair but it would be more helpful if you can move the camera to show what you are actually doing at times, like where to find the actuator and how to insure it goes back in correctly.

Just a tip: The helmet cam does NO GOOD! I want to see the part in place and then see the steps. The music is NO GOOD! I'd rather hear you walk through the process. Show me steps. All I see is your arms and the light.

You don't have to pull the glovebox off.... just drop it down.

I feel like you could have just dropped the glovebox by pushing the sides in while open and disconnecting the damper and not have gone through removing all that trim.

I don’t know if you can answer me this but when I turn on the heater it blows hot air on the passenger side but not the driver. The driver side just blows cold air. The heated seats also don’t work on driver but thats ok. Any way you can help out??

My 2011 only blows heat on the driver side and cold on the passenger. Will this help fix that issue?

No, a different actuator is broken. I don't have the car or manual anymore. Sounds like the blend actuator is broken.

Try the driver side ac acuator it’s located under the steering wheel on the right side my guy. I had one come into my shop with the same problem

@@marcmunoz8748 I have the opposite problem, drivers side blows cold and the passenger side is barely cool. Where is the passenger side actuator located? Is it the one that is to the left of the one in this video?

That's not necessarily true. I had one come in with the same complaint but intermittent. Got it to make noise while using. Scan tool to manipulate the actual temp blend door but still had ac and hear

I wish I could answer your question, my Flex died several months ago and I no longer have it. Plus my subscription to the manual has expired. Sorry, I can't help you with this. Make sure to check my video out about the common problems with the 3.5 engine. Major issues with the water pump.

This is not the door blend actuator. He replaced the actuator for recirculating cabin air when the system is set to A/C recirc. Same actuator part, wrong place. The blend door actuator is to the left of all this and a super big pain in the ass to replace.

Do you have a good schematic I can share, my Hayes manual shows this as the Blend Door Actuator.

Yes. This is an easy part to swap. It didn't solve my problem. Mine is up in the center of the instrument panel behind the center vent on the passenger side. This blends the air to the setting of the passenger. I will continue my search. I have a 2010 Limited and there's no fuse position which corresponds to his number. There's a climate control sensor and I pulled that one. Position 15. A 10 amp fuse.

@@rwsales I no longer have access to the manual for a Ford Flex. I could only purchase 90 day access to the manual. Check out my video about lessons learned from the Ford 3.5 water pump. The car started leaking coolant and was dead in less than a week.

ford schematics doesn't show which actuator number goes to the center dash actuator not the one behind the clove box .the 3 actuators are all the same just different part numbers

So check out my 05 to 09 Mustang actuator replacement videos. I put in links that show actuator locations. The part numbers are different, but the location of actuators is similar. I did this video years ago, and I remember locations being similar to a mustang at the time.

You do not have to take all that stuff out all you have to do is drop the glove box down and get right to it with a screwdriver
