This yoga for PTSD practice invites you to slowly and gently reconnect with your body. When we experience trauma triggers and PTSD, we become disconnected from sensations in our bodies. In this practice you will move through several stretches and notice any sensation that arises. Be gentle and nonjudgemental with yourself. This is your space to just be. This is not just for those with PTSD - any type of stored trauma in our bodies can disconnect us, so you are welcome here wherever you find yourself in your healing journey
This is a great beginner yoga practice and incorporates concepts of Trauma Informed Yoga as a way to start or deepen your mental health journey in order to feel more calm, regulated, and at ease daily. Yoga for mental health is a wonderful resource to add to your toolbox for self-improvement.
Optional:
1 or 2 blankets
1 yoga bolster or a couple of pillows
2 yoga blocks or thick books
(just whatever you have around your house to help you feel supported)
