I'm just getting back into jump rope as a form of cardio after many years (I finally live in a space where I have the room and ceiling height) and still have a ton of muscle memory and coordination to do the majority of what's in this video with the rope moving forwards and backwards. Do you have any resources on easy to hard in terms of stress on the body for these moves? I can only do a few minutes a session right now while I get back in shape and have to be careful as I'm on the tail end of recovering from a shoulder injury.

Great content. My legs hurt these days when I jump rope and yet 3 years back never experienced it. Any recommendations on leg recovery especially around the ankles and dorsal plantar areas? Thanks

so many things can play into this. if you're doing too many tricks and moving around your space a ton you might have strained it a bit. usually its just overuse and needs some rest and recovery. ice for inflammation, massage and elevate your legs at night. hope this helps!

Very cool to find your channel! I picked up jump rope a couple years ago and just started looking into the actual community behind it online now. My record of jump rope with no breaks (generally a mix of the first 13 exercises + double unders) is 2 hours hovering around 150-170bpm which I'm proud of. Jumping to the beat of music makes it so much fun! Only problem I've faced is shin splints which have been a pain. I assume it stems from jumping on concrete with non-running shoes + no warmup streches, though I'm considering a skipping mat and a better rope that isn't just from walmart bahaha

Hey, I've just picked up jump rope, I weight around 140 kg and ny height is around 180 cm, I was able to do around 1000 jumps today, took breaks after 100 jumps, felt good....Thanks for the motivation and pls do suggest how I can improve so that I reach my ideal weight...Thanks

Is the purpose of the boxer skip to stay in place or to move around while doing it? I always want to lean towards the side where I shift my weight towards.

depends - moving around your space is generally to work on footwork, agility, coordination, etc. It should be intentional, practice moving around and practice staying in the same spot.

Should you jump rope before or after resistance training?

depends. if you're building muscle, warm up with the rope and do resistance training first. to get lean, i'd skip first and try to go intense! hope this helps
