They are not talking about the trucks that regular people drive. These trucks are just for people who tow or haul very heavy loads. They are expensive, but you can have the power and capabilities of a young semi. They are always more expensive than the lesser models and when you add all the frills, you just might be right. Prices will have to be adjusted back to reality across all models, and new models will have to be smaller, more efficient and much less expensive. The quality issues will also have to be addressed by all manufacturers, as far as I can see nobody is making a good product and considering the huge investment they had better fix it quick.

Ram's going to the high output Cummins dropping the standard output so Ford is doing the same with the Super Duty. That's great IF - and a BIG IF - you plan on towing 40,000LBs. And then there is the little guy with the 10,000 lb towing needs. You know the person who is stressing out the limits of a half ton max tow and needs (or wants for towing comfort) to move up to a 3/4 ton. Gone are the standard output options (other than GM) that would actually serve them better and historically gets better, but still lousy, fuel economy than the same truck with the HO option.

I’ve never been able to buy a brand new vehicle. Could never afford them. I wouldn’t know what it feels like to drive away in a brand new vehicle. Even if i tried to, it would’ve been repossessed.
