I found Dr. Lustig about 5 months ago, His videos where describing your eating plan, which I have been doing far 5 months. 68 years old 5 foot 1inches tall weighting 196 pounds, had gained 30 pounds in 6 months. Already new I was prediabetic, now I was Diabetic A1C 6.1, With eliminating all ultra processed foods with High Fructose Sugar, eliminated all seed oils, no juices, but eating whole fruit. The plan was basic Mediterranean diet, except included eating red meat three times per week, because my iron was really low, start with having to go far iron shots and taking iron pills daily. With proper diet have lost 36 pounds, my A1C 5.6 now, no longer Diabetic, My iron is up to normal now, But my Doctor wants me to continue eating red meat, have been having problems over last several years with iron running low. I found your video informative. I do no this has to be far rest of my life, need to loose 30 more pounds, and I will.

I went carnivore diet at 63. 5 nths later, ive lost 60lbs, and cured every chronic illness I had. Im now incredibly vital and healthy mentally and physically. Its simply zero sugar, zero carbs, zero plants. I only eat once a day, a fatty steak. Im never hungry, and never fatigued. I was t2 diabetic, now non diabetic. Arthritis gone, ibs gone, gastric reflux gone, joint pain gone, prostate issues gone, depression gone, anxiety gone. I wish id known about this years a go. Forget the salad and vegies; everybody says this, but we all end up sick and fat. Insulin resistance is also the driver of cardiovascular disease, not cholesterol. Sugar is death.

Hi, my mom is have type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high bp. So you totally avoided fruits and vegetables? Please reply
@johnallen73675 ай бұрын
@@Mnbb352 hi. This post was a while ago. The diet is called carnivore. Controlling and reversing diabetes is about regaining insulin sensitivity. This means canning sugar, carbs, plants and, importantly, seed oils. These things are the enemy. Cholesterol is not. You read my list of things cured. They are not exaggerations, they are typical for carnivore eaters. You need to research for yourself to become confident, because it will seem radical. However, its actually how we all ate as little as a hundred years ago. A little seasonal fruit is not harmful, but its all sugar. So i eat only beef, bacon, eggs, butter. Drink only water, occasional coffee. With a history of heart attacks, my calcium score went from 600 to zero. Calcium score is the gold standard of cardiovascular disease risk, and mine reduced to zero eating everything that doctors tell you to avoid. Im med free and thriving. For anyone who wants health and vitality and freedom from doctors and endless medications, this is the answer, and it is free. Checkout dr ken berry on youtube for help in starting. Carnivore reversed my t2 diabetes in 2 weeks. Removing sugar and carbs reduced my inflammation markers to historic lows. Good luck to you. Im in Australia, by the way.

I'm insulin resistant with severe reactive hypoglycemia, so am unable to fast without getting low blood sugar symptoms. I tried the Weight Watchers diet and actually gained weight. After watching this channel it appears that the WW diet penalizes too much for healthy fats, thus my failed attempt. So frustrating. If I go too low with carbs I feel terrible as well. My body is so sensitive. I decided to just eat clean, and not count calories, sticking to complex carbs, lean protein, veggies and fruit, while cutting down on packaged foods since they're laden with inflammatory oils, and making sure to walk/run every day. I'm hoping that works. Going to try to learn as much as I can from this channel, thank you!!

I have recently started intermittent fasting of noon to 7. This is working fine for me hunger wise. I watched a few of your videos about eating earlier in the day. Just as everyone's bodies are unique in what works best food wise, everyone's sleep schedule is their own. When you say stop eating by 4PM what time are you expecting people to go to bed? How many hours before bedtime is that? And starting to eat earlier in the morning, what time are you thinking people will get up? I usually sleep Midnight to 8 or 9 AM. So, my stopping eating by 7 PM is 5 hours before bed.
@Quasar1111 Жыл бұрын
Intermittent fasting can be tricky depending on a person's schedule, can't it? For instance, the ideal window for me is to finish a light breakfast by 11 am and then finish dinner by 4:00 which is about a 5.5 hour period from the start of meal #1 to the end of meal #2 and I don't go to sleep until well after midnight ... but I can do that because I'm not currently working outside the home. But if I were working at an office job from 8:00 to 5:00 then I'd have to finish breakfast by 7:00 am and eat lunch at noon because I'd never want to eat after 5 in the evening ... and I think what would happen is that when I got off work, I'd be hungry because my metabolism would be sluggish after sitting for all those hours. I also think I'd have more of a tendency to want to snack while at work, and that's not good.

So here is an odd question, I already do all the things you discuss in this video. I eat low/no carb (i have celiac) my carbs are things like sweet potatoes, I eat dinner at 3 PM, go to bed by 9 pm, sleep like a log, eat predominantly Mediterranean, although have recently added organic chicken and turkey to up my protein intake. I am under stress. Going through a breakup of a long term relationship and working long hours. My hair started falling out on my hairline and I have always had acne and stray chin hairs. My bmi is on the low end of normal (5’5” 120 lbs - 44 years old female). I went to a doctor to get my hormones checked and she tested my insulin, it is through the roof. I wore a blood glucose monitor for 6 months and my blood sugar was always normal. What is causing my high insulin? I’m starting to gain weight now. Is it from stress? How do I fix my insulin so I can lose this weight that I am suddenly gaining? Help!!

thanks for the video, good info. Unfortunately though for women a strictly clean fast is unsweetened mineral water only - as lemon is a hormone disrupter and will interrupt the fast. Also for best sleep turn off all devices at least an hour before bed as EMFs are sleep disruptors. I would never go to bed with my device on or in use.

Excellent stuff. The YT algorithm served up this video bc of my interest in LCHF. I have been following the suggestions above based on the lectures from Loe.Carb Down Under docs and experts. Ive lost 15kgs in 10 months. Feel great. The three pronged approach of calorie deficit (with daily exercises and strength training), low carbs healthy fats, and IF works best. For me at least. Ppl need to experiment a little, and understand the science behind the recommendations. I say this bc, you need patience, and time, and the feedback you get from your body when you follow the science is a positive reinforcement.

What about skinny people who have blood sugar issues? I notice many people in the comments have said they lost a lot of weight, so I am a little nervous about losing any more since I'm about 15lbs below normal weight. (Petite female).

Any correlation between insulin resistance and GTT test. Blood sugar within normal range and Hba1c 5.7 here doctor not carried IR Test. Tq for sharing.

There is a test for insulin resistance that utilizes your fasting glucose level and fasting insulin level. It is called the HOMA-IR. I touch on it in my video on Signs of Insulin Resistance (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJ2sZJeDa5qNp9E). The website, The Blood Code (thebloodcode.com/calculators/), has an online calculator that will do the math for you and provides the ranges from normal to significant insulin resistance.

@@beckygillaspy The problem is here doctor don't do fasting insulin most of doctors don't know what is FI and HOMA-IR. Therefore, I did OGT test 2hour reading sky high at 15mmol/l.

Would liposuction help to get rid of belly fat?

Yes, but it won't fix your (a) eating habits or (b) underlying hormone imbalance. You'll end up gaining it all back. Do a keto diet (less than 20g of carbs per day). I lost 30lbs in three months that way.

Dr Becky. May I ask you a question from the U.K.? Have been following your videos this last month and doing great. Am doing 16:8 and finding it much easier than I thought. My question is, why is my shape changing quite dramatically- my belly is flattening and my hips are slimming - and yet my scales show almost no actual weight loss? I seem to be losing both visceral and subcutaneous fat, so apart from a minor 2lb fluctuation over the month I see no real weight loss. Although I am delighted with my shape change! I love your videos, they are the best. Just curious if no weight loss but only shape change is a ‘thing’. I was hoping to lose around 25lbs as I am very short 5’2” for my 78kgs. X

Could be you are putting on muscle and that is heavier than fat. Keep up the great job, it’s so worth feeling better! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I agree with 2wtglb that you are probably replacing fat with muscle. You may have simply started to move more and do more as you lost fat. I would not worry about not losing weight if you feel good and you have lost fat in your midsection. This is actually much better than losing weight. Muscle burns far more calories than fat, so you may find that your weight is far more stable than if you had lost fat only instead of gaining muscle and losing fat.
