450 HORSEPOWER LS6 Chevelle! 🔥

I didn't hear the rata tat tat of the cam. All LS6 Chevelles came with a solid lifter cam which have a very distinctive sound. It's a shame the cowl indution hood isn't working. It is supposed to stay closed until the throttle gets opened up. One of the coolest features available on Chevelle's .. Awesome car though and great video of it.

i went to 4 of the greatest concerts back in the 80's in a car exactly like that! i saw van halen 1984 and the 5150 tour and also saw ac/dc, back in black and for those about to rock!! half of the fun of those concerts was taking the ride out to the arena's to see the shows. there's nothing like the smell of jack daniels, marlboro's, beer and weed in the back seat of a classic car like that one. i miss the 80's!!!!!

I’d say get the Chevelle. You can change the exhaust to make it sound meaner like the trans am, but the Chevelle has way more performance than the trans am

Block, he is right. The LS6 454 was the Holy Grail of 70 SS Chevelles. If you want a really great car for those Sunday afternoon drives. That one is it. Don’t buy a later 70’s Trans Am. Get a early 70’s with a 455 Superduty You will be glad you did. Stay late 60’s pre 74 for classic muscle cars. They don’t have emissions and have way more horsepower.

In High School, I had a blue 70 Chevell my buddies had a Red Chevell 70 SS and another one had a black 69 SS and all 3 of us use to Cruz and park together

Now that is a holy grail classic. And super strong performance. Frikin awesome car. But, if you like Trans Ams. The pinincle is if you could find a 69 with the 302 in it that was built for the Trans Am races. Super super rare. Next would be a street 69 trans am. Then, imo, go for the 70 to 73 series. And then the 67 to 69 firebird HO's.

Hey, don't knock the Optima, they are awesome. I had a 2015 SX turbo for a minute. That thing was quick and solid. Kept up with a newer Challenger with ease. Only reason i got rid of it was so I could get a bike. Love the motoring world in general, both four and 2 wheels......really diggin the look at the throwback classics.

You asked him what a 12-bolt rear end meant & I don't think that he specifically answered your question. The number of bolts refers to the number of bolts that hold the rear end and the differential together. The posi-track rear end came with 10-bolt or 12-bolt setup. With 12-bolt being the stronger of the two.

That is a very rare engine there are a lot of 70 Chevelle‘s with 454s but they’re 365 horse or 390 horse not too many of the 450 . The only other car Chevy put that engine in was the Corvette and that car is very expensive because it’s so rare.

.If you are really into Trans Ams you should look into the smoky and the bandit additions they come black and gold. Also there are others black and gold cars there was some Hurst addition they would come with Hurst shifter and you could get them in black and gold or white and gold 442 cutlass ‘65 Shelby 350 H 78 nova SS and I’m sure there’s others I just don’t remember

12 bolt= 12 bolts hold the rear pan on the back of the differential indicating a heavy duty rear as opposed to a 10 bolt rear end which is weaker.
