I wish this would be mandatory watching in schools so everybody could start out in life knowing exactly how to fuel their body for maximum health. It would seriously change the whole world 💕

I would say it needs to start before school. It needs to be taught as part of prenatal classes. What parents bring in the home and model is what kids learn. "More is caught than taught."

Totally agree with the comment about greens early in the day. My breakfast each morning consists of a soup made with chopped up supergreens (lots of them) with dried basil and salt and a serving of tofu. I add some water and cook in the microwave for three minutes. Also have a potato or two sliced with some frozen cauliflower and dried cilantro and a little salt. Then to finish have a bowl of oats with flax seeds, dried cranberries sweetened with apple juice, and frozen blueberries with a dash of soy milk. Fills me up so that I'm usually only hungry for one other meal per day. And it's a healthy one too. Do 16:8 intermittent fasting per day. I feel so good eating this way. But still follow hunger cues and will eat other times if really hungry.

Love the point that a hard day is in the emotional category but eating healthy is in the biological category. Not allowing our emotions to change our healthy habits was an impactful statement for me. For example, just bc I had a bad day, I wouldn’t not brush my teeth or shower. Thanks for this point.

Eating when hungry is really unrealistic, you can't always eat outside of lunch break. Maybe if you have a office job you can eat behind your desk but when you are taking care of animals for a living you can only eat in your breaks

Great video! Do I need to be concerned about how much protein I eat as to not lose muscle during weight loss?
@Swameh2 жыл бұрын
The wfpb movement isn't very protein focused because they rely on trace protein amounts in rice broccoli etc. If you have specific protein goals you can look to legumes, seeds and nuts and macro count (nuts and seeds would count towards both fat and protein). If you're not planning on counting macros I would stick to low fat legumes as much as possible - I know some people who use dehydrated soy protein in their oats, better than powder I guess but I'd rather just eat the peanut butter :') look up Carol Aguirre.

For example, when you said you got your oil changed, a lot of people incl. myself, would stop for bad/fast food because we were hungry and not home. I’d love to see more what you eat in a day, meal prep, or if you are running errands all day type thing.

Absolutely loved this video...so informative! Im currently pregnant so im no looking to lose any weight just not to gain too much but i did te starch solution a few months before i got pregnant and i actually gained weight. I followed the 50/50 plate method and never lost anything. My husband i very old school and convinced me of course you're not losing weight you're eatinf potatoea everyday haha he's stuck on the old way of thinking no carbs=weight loss which i know is only a short term fix....any ideas what i can do differently during my pregnancy to keep the weight gain to a minimum?
@Peony250012 жыл бұрын
Hi Claudia. I can't speak for everyone but when I was pregnant I continued to eat wfpb, lots of healthy fruits and vegetables, lots of baked potatoes and rice. I was healthy and my children were also born healthy. It is now 20 years since my youngest and I am in my 50s. My kids are still healthy and happy and I am still slim and healthy myself. I started menopause at 48 without issues. I still get my bloodwork done annually and excercise daily but love that I don't spend my days thinking about food. I love Emmie's tips for new recipes and food ideas, I also love Plantiful Kiki. Good luck!

Good video. I share your videos with people who whine about not losing weight in workout groups. I am down to a size 4 and while at the grocery store last week a couple of store clerks were making fun of my clothes saying that I was wearing my kids clothing. I don't have kids at home. Is this jealousy? I thought people would love the thin me, but I guess it's not that simple. Do you have a video about people's reactions to the new you?
@carriefilion7942 жыл бұрын
This actually a really good question. I can relate. I hope she answers it.
@samjones70382 жыл бұрын
I think its jealousy. This is a good point that nobody is addressing. I heard chef AJ talk about it really briefly in one of her videos and she said that some people have critisized her for being too thin ( she looks great ) but she didnt say how she reacted.
@HealthyEmmie2 жыл бұрын
Congrats on your weight loss!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a classic case of projection. People will project their insecurities onto others with the hopes that it'll bring them down. It makes them feel better about themselves. People throw rocks up, not down. Trying to pull you down shows that they're below you ;) Keep moving forward on your journey.

I noticed you said dry oatmeal is different. Is it ok to have overnight oats? Are they a good option?
@bevwiumplant-baseddoc40552 жыл бұрын
I also wondered about overnight oats. If overnight oats are wet-raw-soaked-in-water oats; I'd say they may have similar calories to wet-cooked oats. I noticed that Chef AJ also said oats must be cooked, not raw, because raw oats are much higher in calories (I assume that she refers to raw DRY oats being high in calories, per pound). I wonder if anyone has a "calorie per pound" comparison, between overnight-water-oats and cooked oats.
