Just a heads up, I'm a dental hygienist, and I see a lot of people here hating on fluoride. Fluoride is a neurotoxin in extreme quantities. Your toothpaste is fine. You can die from too much spinach (oxalic acid), lol. Secondly, I used to work at a dental office that advocated for non-fluoride products because we knew patients would return needing expensive fillings six months later (I quit there). I fell for it too. I had to get three fillings after switching to a "natural" toothpaste. After three years at my new office, the one consistent factor in reduced tooth decay is fluoride. Sorry. There's also fluoride in food, so it's everywhere.
@qdog568 Жыл бұрын
I hope you reported that office for its unethical practices. I would have.

If they say over the radio fliuride toothpaste has been linked to osteo porosity I'm bound to agree. I'm sorry that's just me. I have felt more normal when I don't use flouride. I think the important thing is is to brush every day and floss. I have a small mouth so it's always been hard to regimen daily brushing. I'm ashamed I've neglected my teeth. My dad told me, do you want to be like grandpa and wear dentures? Even with all that pressure to brush I slack off. I'm not a robot and none of us are perfect. I've got my oral b and a Sonicare and sensodyne and a waterpik. I'm all set. I was told I have 50% lower jaw bone loss. So naturally I quit flouride tooth paste. It causes osteo porosity. I'm sure of it! So yes if it's got flouride in it TO me it is a scam. But I respect what your telling me because you've got medical training and I don't. I do get flouride when I use Sensodyne so I accept that. I've used Crest all my life, and now 2 years ago they tell me my lower jaw has 50% bone loss. It had to have been the Crest that did it! So when I go to get toothpaste I try to find non flouride formulations. It's my body it's my responsibility.
@Angela_health Жыл бұрын
You admitted to neglected your teeth yet you blame the toothpaste for your bone loss? I too have neglected my oral care and I have some bone loss as well, luckily my smile doesn’t reveal this but I feel oral pain majority of the time. I however do not blame my toothpaste, I blame my lack of routine. Your right we are in charge our own self care.
@renatodoe6661 Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisEbbrsen Be careful. Usually jaw bone loss is caused by periodontal disease where bacteria colonize your gum and travel down to your jaw bone. There, they will slowly erode it.

Thanks Teeth Talk Girl. I got so involved with my morning routine to get outta bed, fighting seasonal affective disorder, that a forgot to brush in the morning. And when I have brushed, I forgot to floss. I'm gonna put it into my Healthy Habits Goals along with getting up early, morning walks, meditating on God's Word & put it FIRST! I really needed this reminder. I appreciate all the work you put into making your videos. They are always interesting & you make it fun so we want to watch every video. For me anyways.

For some reason I can brush better with a manual brush. But I have missing teeth so maybe that’s why. I use a super soft brush that has tons of bristles.
Biotene does not work for dry mouth I brought a bottle and the lozenges they took out the enzymes that made it work which is a waste of 9 bucks

You usually have to use a sawing motion and pull down but not so hard you cut into your gums when you make it through the touching teeth. She has a video specifically for flossing that may help. I have a few teeth that are literally overlapping and I can get the floss in using this method.

Hey Whitney, can I use mouthwash after brushing before sleep?
@thatonedog8198 ай бұрын
In previous videos she stated you can use an anticeptic mouthwash before brushing (or in the morning) if you're prone to gum issues and floride mouthwash after brushing (or at night) if you're prone to cavities. So basically if you're prone to gum issues and cavities, use the anticeptic in the morning and a floride mouthwash at night. But basically you don't have to use a mouthwash, it's not make or break

Gotta get your enamel strengthened with fluoride toothpaste and fluoride mouthwash at night wouldn't hurt (do not eat, drink or rinse afterward). You should also use a soft toothbrush and appropriate toothpaste for sensitive teeth. If you do all these things already not sure what else would help 😔

Difference between implant and permanent denture
@jessicaclark36 Жыл бұрын
A permanent denture is a hybrid denture that includes 4-6 dental implants. It is screwed in and then sealed with a filling material to cover the access holes of the implant.
@jessicaclark36 Жыл бұрын
A single implant can only replace a single tooth
@Haleema216 Жыл бұрын
@@jessicaclark36 ok then this denture too requires screwing he wht abt this implant both r same?
@jessicaclark36 Жыл бұрын
@@Haleema216 All implants are titanium screws that are placed in the bone. When you restore the actual tooth portion or denture portion this can be placed with a screw and then the hole gets plugged. Or for a single tooth implant crown your DDS may choose to cement it on I would watch a KZbin video on it. Look up the differences and then the restoration options.

Dental care, even modern day, still seems so primitive doesn't it? Makes me wonder when the next big breakthrough comes along in oral care; and humanity makes a similar transition to going from the horse n buggy to the car. I mean, new and modern dental equipment is still basically just pointy sticks, aren't they? It'll come out that diet is 85% of good oral care, good bacteria infusions or some unknown future biotech becomes the next 14%, while sticks with points or bristles, drops down to the 1% which is more than it still probably deserves. Call me a skeptic to our current system, but I think an evolution/renaissance, is long overdue.
