I subbed. I enjoy these videos. I chose not to go any heavier than 180s on the bullets for my 7PRCs. Personal preference. May change my mind down the road but. I need to clock the factory Hornady Outfitter 160CX in my Tikka 7PRC. It has a 24" Proof barrel. Have you tried the Federal ELDX factory load? It is closer to billed velocity than Hornady. I get 3000fps with it in my 24" barrels. I'm considering trying the Barnes 160 LRX ammo as well as the Federal Terminal Ascent but so pricey. I prefer handloading but sometimes just get lazy.

Thank you for the sub! This is the first factory load I’ve ran through it. I was shooting 195s around 2800, but just wasn’t getting the accuracy I wanted. Not getting great accuracy out of these loads either or the velocity. Only running a 22 in barrel but should be doing a lot better. Going to try some other hand loads at some point!

New shooter here. Any recommendations for a rear rest that you can hunt with. Something light to pack but still useful?

I typically just use my bino harness! Or a rolled up coat. If you’re shooting off a tripod you can use your backpack. Zero extra weight there. I’ve seen guys use sitting pads! Unknownmuntions has a rear bag though might check that out!

Is anyone experiencing a 50% attrition rate with enlarged primer pockets once they hit three firings, including the factory firing with Hornady brass? I find this unacceptable. I am loading 190gr burgers with H1000 below Hornady hot loads at 66gr of powder. ADG brass is lasting way longer.

Yea I had issues with hornady brass in my 28 nosler. Didn’t last more than 1 firing, 2 if I was lucky

Yeah, some are 3 with my 6.5 prc with 58.8 grains of H1000 for ELDX loads or or 57.8 grains of H1000 for 127 LRX.

Yep. Best thing ya can do with hornady brass after factory round is fired is throw it away. Its crap.

I found out the hard way hornady brass is terrible after spending 900 on brass due to availability , I was 3 grains under max book load and splitting necks , iv started annealing brand new hornady brass cause I think they don’t do the best job at their factory , also primer pockets are loose after a few shots on about 30-35%

This can’t be correct…… I’ve been told on YT that the bullets fall out of the barrel at about 5fps…. No way you can shoot 600 yards… better get something else… lol nice shooting.

For what it’s worth…I rebarreled my ruger precision to 7PRC (preferred barrel blanks). Shot 4 matches with the GBA at 1000yds and the factory Hornady 180gr ELDM loads grouped between 9” and 11” in all four matches. Seven shots out of 10 on paper at a mile on my first ever try (calm day). I’m was pleased, and all the reloaders couldn’t believe the factory ammo was that consistent.

@@mattbrewer5808 You didn't state ES and SD so I wouldn't know if consistent. You didn't state any speed, which is their big problem lying on the box and they know it! (beside all the cheap shit equipment they make)! Some projectiles might be OK, but I will never know because I will never buy them... or any of the shit they make! I do not believe your comment either... it is called critical thinking! Truth has a loud ring, and bullshit has a strong smell!
