@cymjeff92

I subconsciously achieve that by giving up on my dreams haha. Basically I realized I am not going to achieve things I want, given up and fell into a dark hole. Then I started feeling grateful for what I do have even if I didn't strive to achieve them. Slowly I realized I am more relaxed and content with life because I basically achieve my goal - personal happiness. Of course jealousy still arise now and then and it doesn't mean I completely given up on my dreams, but I begin to enjoy the journey and don't care about the outcome.. hence going with the flow

I'm learning to talk to people and make friends, 2 things i've been struggling with the past couple years. All my friends think i'm dumb and don't talk to me, i've lost some good friends over the past 2 years. I've been emotionally burnt out this summer from lack of conversations and having no drive to do anything anymore. I've been struggling to find out what i like after keeping to myself for so long, i've been relearning who i am and what i like. One of my friends in the UK went into a coma a couple weeks ago after she faked her death, i've been trying to get in contact with her over discord when she wakes up. I'm surprised that summer vacation hasn't killed my spirits yet. Idk, there's still August and then i start the 10th grade. Thanks for letting me share my pain and sadness that's been summer vacation 2021

Thanks for the video. I do many of these things. I would say overall I’m a pretty happy person. I wake up, pray, gratitude, meditate. Exercise, then listen to positive affirmations and motivational videos before work. Although work can be stressful, I do not allow it to take over my day. I take short breaks, take a walk, get some quiet time. At the end of the day, I think about the wonderful things that happened throughout my day. There is always something to be grateful for.

I started remote camping about 5 months ago, and I am so glad I found this hobby. The same as you, it does wonders for me and my mental state. Hearing birds, seeing deer, sitting by a calm lake or a gently-flowing river, it's a balm for my soul. The severe loneliness, depression, and anxiety I have to live with somehow have no power over me when I am out in the back woods. I wish I could do it every day. ☺️

I really appreciate that everyday i can wake up healthily, can do what i want and choose what i want to do 😌🙏🏻. This is already a blessing! Recently, I have been adviced by someone to minimise the planning of doing everything in advance and just "go with the flow", this really makes me a lot happier and reduce my anxiety (which i had at times).

I hung out with someone over their house unexpectedly. I and my Mom went to drop something off to the Mom and I and her son hung out since she let us in. I never liked him and always forgot anytime he was around, but I can’t deny how I felt after. I was there for about 45 minutes and those minutes actually changed my attitude for days. I felt weirdly comfortable and I wasn’t overthinking. That’s highly unusual for someone with an Anxiety Disorder. I don’t have any friends and never really had a conversation with anyone outside of my parents. But I actually had a conversation with him. My Dad said to my Mom before that when I came home after I hung out with him that I was smiling like I haven’t in a year. My Mom said when I was leaving he made a sad face and when I said I’d come back, he was looking at me smiling. Now he was talking too but he’s normally quiet. My Mom said his Mom told her that he wanted to stop going to the homeschooling group from which is how I know him. But now he seems to be signing up to all the upcoming events. I’m scared to see him again (since I haven’t seen him since then) because I feel everything will be the same and he won’t talk to me much. I will say hi but if he seems uninterested in talking to me I won’t say more. I always think everyone doesn’t like me and if they seem to, it’s just cuz they’re nice and polite. What should I do? He made me happy when I did talk to him and my Mom says he liked talking to me and was sad I had to leave, but I still can’t help but feel like I’m bothering him if I talk to him again. Also my Mom is scaring me. She keeps saying “I don’t want to say this…” while talking about him but never continuing. She keeps saying it while smirking too. Help, I have no idea what she’s thinking or wants to say. 😅
@ClaudeVanguard
@ClaudeVanguard Жыл бұрын
Just say hi to him and talk casually, you'll feel it if he wants to talk to you more or not. There's nothing wrong with being friends as long as you set your boundaries and avoid being alone with someone you don't know much about yet. If you don't understand what your mom is telling you then ask her politely to explain it to you in a way that you can understand.

@@ClaudeVanguard oh my gosh I just read my comment again. Teehee, so much has changed. ❤️ We talk a lot more and we’re friends now. What my Mom wanted to say was that she’s pretty sure he likes me. Even tho I have anxieties (and had a lot of stress during a pretty long while, that I am trying to recover from rn) for years I have been considering myself as a happy person. Funnily enough it turns oit that I have almost all of these habits, just not always have time to do all of them (like exercise 😅). I hope it may be a proof to all of those who doubt does it work. Don't hesitate to try some of them! Especially I recommend appreciating nature, even if it's little flower which was strong enough to grow next to a sidewalk, or singing birds greeting you on a way to work/school 🐦🌱

I am at the point in my life where this is the first time Im able to tick off all the boxes of a checklist about happiness. Im so grateful for my peace of mind right now. Simce I got to this place I swear Im. Not going back to my old mentality. If youre wondering what happened to me, nothing much really. I just found a video about Slow Living and relistened to the Tao Te Ching audiobook here in YT and there I was, feeling stronger, more resilient, much grateful, back yo being sociable, not envious anymore, feeling much much braver, its a lot of positive feeling really. I dont mean to boast at all. Im just being honest and I hope this can help others too. Since then, i continue ti listen about Stoicism and Taoism everyday. It keeps me grounded and have the virtues that help me live my life better for myself. 😊

I loved your video. I treasure special moments like a morning cup of coffee with my two dogs beside me. I have been through so much of feeling low that I needed to do stuff that lifted my mood. I exercise pretty regularly, and it did help. However, I found that painting really helped to lift my mood. Another one was visiting someone unwell or having some time with another who is feeling down. It helps when I can help someone else too. I will practice gratitude as it is not intrinsic to me. I am influenced by the world's chaos, which pulls me down.

I’ve recently been trying to start practicing gratitude and writing a gratitude journal, but I feel like the emotions of being grateful for what you have are sometimes triggering a wave guilt for having mental health issues despite everything that you have. Like, when I go through everything that I’m grateful for, there’s a voice in my head saying “yeah you have all that, and even that is not enough to keep you happy?” And I end up feeling worse. Has anyone had similar experiences? How did you figure it out?

I try to remind myself those things aren’t responsible for my happiness. It’s a negative narrative likely instilled by a parent. I say this because my mother would always tell me to “be thankful I’m not a starving sick baby in Africa” when I would express sadness or discontent. Our experience may not be as terrible or traumatic as others but our feelings are still valid.

feel happy inside, fake it for awhile, then it will become you. Be aware of other peoples opinions/hate/whatever, but just remember the way you feel 100% of the time is your choice. Focus on the good and forget about the past bad experiences.

I guess that's just the voice in your head trying to beat you up. You don't have to listen. Don't beat yourself up. It's OK to give yourself a break and treat yourself like a friend. A really good book is Linda Field's 60 tips for Self Esteem.

I guarantee that all these habits actaully work. I have always been a happy go lucky person, but stuff happened and a few years ago, I wasnt in the best mental state. But these habits, gratitude and all the other ones changed me so much for the better. I am always happy and optimistic now, I am a better person in general with an improved personality and life just kept getting more magical with each passing day. Make a journal people, write down affirmations and gratitude. Write your feelings. "Paper has more patience than people."_by Anne Frank

@@shidehhafezi6826 i am glad it helped someone. Also your reply was my reminder to watch this video again lol. Since quite few days I was not following through. Yk just some advice on this journey of healing and growth you would falter and fail many times. It is a spiral. A new you is a guaranteed but the ghost of old you would haunt somedays. What I mean is sometimes you will go off track. While somedays you will have a heart of gratitude and hands full of glitter some other days you may feel angry, sad or uncertain. It is normal. We are all humans. The key to consistency is not always being on track it is getting back on track every time you go off. I suggest keep a diary. Believe in yourself or maybe a higher power according to your faith. It easies so many worries when you know that things can be taken care of. The positivity and those cliche quotes can sound so cringe and maybe to some extent be toxic. But sometimes they will give you hope because a base of them is true. 💗💟💖💗💝 we cant be love and light all the time but i wish you all the best

Nice video. One more suggestion. **Be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing yourself with others, reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 10-15-20 minutes or more. You can sit or lay down anywhere-anytime. No deep breathing. Don’t fight your thoughts. With practice the mind will relax. Keep a reminder to observe your breath sensations throughout the day and night before sleep, when travelling, at work, at home etc with eyes open or closed. One more tip is to sit on a chair without moving, be still and observe your breath for a few minutes. Stillness reduces thoughts and brings quick relief. Like me make this a lifetime habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor. **

I do agree with all of these, except for no.3. Going with the flow has caused me nothing but trouble, leaving me unable to be productive and gettign depressed from the lack of doing things that actually helped me. Could be because I'm neurodivergent, I've got time blindness as well. My internal clock is shit. Right now, I'm using timers and schedules, my happiness has improved. But the rest really do work, they've really helped to boost my happiness. People, remember to take care of yourselves, it really does make you happy.

Hmm, I got 3, Complimenting Others. I love to see people’s faces when given a complement. Especially when it takes them by surprises. 2) Enjoying the moment: I started again taking time to enjoy certain moments. Like when I pull up to the house, I stop and take a moment or two, to sit and just look at and watch what’s going on around me. New flowers blooming, birds going from tree to tree. The grass needs mowing. 3) walking in nature, My husband and I this year decided we would look for walking hiking areas near us, rather than walking down the road, or town park path. Depression has me pretty good, but I’m glad I can still enjoy these. I’ll work back in the others one at a time. “A little at a time”. Not all at once. I liked the 5 min morning exercise idea. 5 mins sounds doable. 😊
