Seeing stuff like this is pretty interesting. I always enjoy looking back at old advertisements and catalogs. It can be very nostalgic.

I began collecting the free lego catalogs they put out 2ce a year when i was 10 to 15. Proud to say i have most of them and they are in plastic folders. Although I'm missing some and some also have been written in. That was in the old days when i still got one lol. Now i generally get 5 which 1 will never be used. And yes when you look back and see the now somewhat 15 years that have passed its funny to see what rocked our tiny worlds as kids lol.

very interesting. this gives a good perspective of what lego used to be and how it has grown over the decades.

I had that helicopter on the second page. This brings back some great memories! Thanks Jang.

I still have quite a few of these mini-catalogs, some in Danish even. As well as a few others from various years. I also miss the road plates too. They did make a newer version in which the road was wider so as to fit the bigger bodied models that were coming out.

I love how all the sets include huge baseplates! Today none of the city sets have any extra walking area or baseplates just for playing with.

I actually had the 6382 fire station, really loved that set and used to build several versions of that station as it had lots of bricks for that time!

I have many of these set complete and still love them. The cowboy minifigure from Main Street will not stand up because of heavy use of in and out of the car.

Awesome video! I had loads of those among my first Lego of my own (I got a bunch of used 70's sets to start off). I had the Auto Repair Shop, the Fire Copter, the Ambulance and the Mobile Rocket Transport. It's interesting to note how there are only yellow, white and red space guys by this point. No Benny.

I used to love looking at those moc pages with all the sets from a theme in one picture, picking out all those tiny details in the background. Also I think we can safely blame Americans for the whole "Legos" thing, I never hear people from Europe say that.

I'm pretty sure if that you fill in your order properly they'll help you! I had back those days bulldozer tracks (at min 9:11) ordered because those where in stock on the pictures but not available in real Lego sets. Like also the old style lightning, motor and big batterybox. And yes i built motorised battletanks with it! ;)

I don't get why they wouldn't want to people to say lego bricks '"legos" because its cool that a brand is so recognized that people refer to the product as a specific brand
@LM-137810 жыл бұрын
It's normally seen as degrading the brand name. There's a fine line between being affectionate and being insulting.

It's still there: "If a trademarked word becomes a common enough generic phrase the company could lose its trademark, thus allowing other companies could use it. Aspirin, laundromat, and videotape all used to be trademarks and have become generic."
