They're not barred from any public office or any status. They're paid in tax and various affirmative action policies to be able to escape the conditions imposed by historic loss of land. How many Europeans historically owned land and yet after serfdom ended, had nothing but built their way? it's the norm for all of the world.... What more can a nation do than this? It seems like there's been a great effort to fix the wrongs of colonialism which was not only the norm for the era it happened but was the norm for Maori too as they were colonists by their own history. I remember when I was younger there was an ideal of peacefully working together of Settler and Maori now it seems we are being driven against each other and the government on one and and radical left wing Maori on the other are driving it whereas the majority of people don't associate with either.

I challenge anybody to read the act and find one quote that protects our privacy.
