Emma Stone is playing a half Asian in this movie and Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino have a full white child in San Andreas. This is not a very racially realistic week for movies is it.

Alonso, that's a terrible comparison. An Asian/Australian who just looks Asian is not anywhere near the same thing as a Caucasian/Asian who just looks white. Emma Stone has not a single Asian feature.

Amy Pascal's response to this movie before it's release basically sums it up "I'm never starting a movie again when the script is ridiculous and we all know it". If she only took her own advice with the second Amazing Spiderman, maybe Sony still might have it.

I still have to see this film since I basically experienced everything in it. Too bad it does not look like it is good. Maybe it is a hard context to understand? I guess I'd be the best to judge.

A girl I went to school with was half Hawaiian and she was so white. I remember her dad coming to school and he was of course typical full blood Hawaiian. She had freckles and light hair just like Stone. So the white washing wasn't as big to me. I just felt like this movie had no point. I know he saves the day at the end but it seemed to come out of nowhere. I love Emma Stone though.

re: Cameron Crowe . . . hated Elizabeth Town...total waste of Dunst & Bloom. Loved We Bought a Zoo. Granted too little character development in Zoo, but enjoyed relationship between Damon and the kids.
