Here’s to the start for Angela’s adult life!! A very bright young woman!! Was awesome finally having her on here, hope you guys enjoyed it!! We’ll be sure to have her on again in the future! Also: You guys were right, this song was on a totally different level, much more raw, great guitar lines, and passionate vocals.

In fairness to the kids of today, rents were much lower in 1970 and today's kids probably wouldn't be living with their parents if they were able to pay a comparably low rent.

Alice is a master of irony. In this one he spends a majority of the song describing the confusion and problems of maturing and being 18, but closes the song saying how much he loves it. Being 18 is tough and awesome at the same time and I think he captured that feeling very well.

The best part is that the song originally called for him to say "I'm eighteen and I hate it," but when it came time to record, he decided on the spot to change it to "Eighteen and I like it." Just goes to show what happens when you let an artist say how they really feel about something

Adults, alway the killjoys, constantly tell kids 'it is a hard age'. But, when you are actually 18 you are too young and brash to not have fun anyway. Personally, I remember wondering what the hell my parents were talking about. If I hadn't been told I was dealing with difficult times I wouldn't have known.

Fun Alice Facts!! Alice opened for the Doors. Scared the bejesus out of the crowd(many tripping) and they went running for the door. Cleared the room! Manager Shep Gordon was there and so impressed, he thought if they had that kind of impact, we got something here. Alice first signed to Frank Zappa's label. He asked them to come by at 7oclock for audition. They arrived at 7am and started playing, woke him up!! Lastly Alice was tight with Keith Moon, Groucho Marks and Salvador Dali!!

He came to the State Fair in Las Vegas when I was19 or so. The"gang" was into Al Kooper and the album "Super Session" at the time, so when we heard the ad on the radio, we thought it was making a joke. We got tickets, dropped some substances, and went to the concert thinking one artist. My lord, were we shocked, especially in our mental state. A story we still laugh about when we get together. Yep, we're all still alive and kicking.

And to listen to some siblings who Didn't get along, Please think about listening to The Kinks, founded by North Londoners Ray and Dave Davies, 3 years apart (with 6 older sisters, imagine) who had legendary fist fights even on stage sometimes (and with other men, Not women) but stayed a band from the 60s - the 90s and have at least 24 albums of songs to choose from. The 5th song Ray ever wrote "You Really Got Me" was an international hit when they were only 20 and 17 years old, in part because of what younger brother Dave did to an old amp to get a distorted sound, and his Heavy hand, that "invented hard rock/heavy metal" (depending on who is talking.) Pete Townsend said he only ever wanted his band to sound as good as The Kinks. (You've probably heard a later song, "Lola.")

Our culture is hyper-critical in the internet age,. There's so much content competing to grab your attention. For something that doesn't totally bowl you over and blow your mind for days, a "C" is actually a pretty good grade. That would equate to a B+ or A- from my generation.

Not exactly a birthday song but timely when you consider all the 18 year olds being driven mad by coronavirus lockdown. I feel for them big time. They’ll have to make up for it when they’re 19 or 20. Alice Cooper from that era probably is best live. Look at some of their live stuff on KZbin from the early 70s. It rocks and they have this cool, theatrical presence about them. They were a huge live act back in the day; they were a big influence on the glam scene in both England and America. There was a movement to ban them from performing in England because of their subversive, horror show theme and style.
