I don't mean to be critical of you, it's not you and it's not all trainers - and yet it is all trainers. It would be great if you made a video that extended from the day you start on heel through the day you are confident that you have a solid heal from the dog. Just keep and add bits each day as you train it. Everyone makes a how to of one session and those are very helpful but not nearly as much as it would be to watch one dog go from novice to exert, and to have it all in one video.

Well done Andy. Yep I've got a 13 week GSD. She's calming down and your tips help. Much better than jerking on a leash and choke chain. Keep up the great work and thanks.

This is such a smart video . Never say Never. This little dog is so cute and your manner of training her is amazing. I like the fact there’s no other way to train a small dog except to bend over. My knees wouldn’t allow me to do the crouching nor will my back. Therefore, you know it, I have larger dogs. Awesome content Andy.

I’ll do a lot of work on a table.😂 Heeling I teach a stationary head position and then moving one step at a time to stay with left leg to avoid so much eating eating in heel with handler bent over. That’s a lot of luring.😮

I'm over 70 with knee trouble, so what kind of dog did I get? A tiny yorkie, of course. I'm determined to train him and have made much progress on things other than heel. I'm starting heel training, but it's killing my poor old body. I'm so grateful for your video to point me in the right direction. I need all the help I can get.

There are tricks to save your back though! My puppy was so small it killed my back and I didn't even think about that when I got him. I put some peanut butter on a spatula! You can do cheese wiz, peanut butter, whipped cream, whatever will stick that your dog can have. Now my dog is 3 and he's still small. I bought this retractable spoon and fork set on amazon and I just put a treat on it lol. Utilize knee and back braces and whatever tricks you can teach with him on a picnic table or something, I did that. Great content 👌

Andy, I rescued a Mal puppy 2 weeks ago. He's now 12-13 weeks. Been watching all your videos and I thank you for your information. He came from a litter of 13 and the shelter that took them in didn't have space for all of them and they were housed together. I've been crate training him but all he does is cry, I've moved his craye5to a quiet room, feed him in crate, etc. I'm really concerned about separation anxiety. I feel bad hearing him cry the whole time he's in there but I'm sticking it out. Any advice on how to help make this easier for him?

@shiva8265 he's great! Took about 2 weeks in the crate before he was ok being in it. Now he's just about a year old and he uses his crate on his own. We don't close the door anymore because I want him to be able get out and stretch when we're gone for more then a few hours. We keep a nanny cam on the crate and most times he goes in and stays until myself or my son get home.
