The 2020 T680 and T880 interiors are quite different than my 2017 T880. I like the idea of the W990 having the Limited Edition interior, gives it a special touch versus the T680 and T880.

People buys classic truck because of connection between a driver and a truck. 990 is International exterior plus 680 interior for a price of WesternStar with gold instead of chrome. Sure will. He built customer wooden fenders for the drive home. It’s supposed to be done next week. Getting lowered 8” vinyl wrap, fenders. I’ll be posting pictures next the Gram and Facebook for sure.

@@AndyTheKenworthGuy Ohhh ok, it should look fantastic once it finished. I'll be looking out for that. You said it getting lowered. I noticed alot of people mentioning the gap between the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender. I wonder if there's a way to minimize that from the factory? I know that the W900 fenders sit closer to the fenders. Not sure if the spacer between the leaf springs and axle has anything to do with that. Fender on the W990 looks like they sit a little bit higher on the hood than the W900.

I think the W990 will be a big hit especially for the fleet carriers, you'll attract drivers that want that classic W900 look but the fleets will benefit from the Aerodynamics of the W990, it will also keep drivers there longer.

@Mile Chaser the W900 is a giant brick pushing itself through the air, the W990 at least has some form of aerodynamics to it. Even if the difference is only .25 of a MPG thats still an extra .25 MPG the fleets dont have to pay, that adds up over 10, 15 or 100 trucks. To say the W900 doesnt have electronic failures is amusing considering the majority of the electronics will likely be the same across all the trucks you mentioned, especially current W900's, T680's and W990's.

​@Mile Chaser the Aerocab is a flat face at an angle, the aerodyne is a sleek curve coming off the windshield, the aerodyne will be far more aerodynamic than the aerocab ever will be as every flat face, whether it be angled or not will create drag unlike a curved area for the air to go over. W990 has what electronic nanny that the W900 doesnt? collision avoidance? Oh no... its the end of the world!

@Mile Chaser I know people who drive w900's, 389's, 379's as well as people who drive cascadias, vnl680's and t680's and each of them have their problems, all of them are owner operators and none of them have had any serious downtown due to mechanical failures or electrical problems. The difference is how the driver takes care of their equipment. The owner ops who drive the cascadia, vnl680 and t680 all sold their long hood KW's and bought those trucks, they said they've been making more net profit at the end of the year because of the fuel savings and at the end of the day, net profit is greater than looking cool. You can say the w900's are "better built" but they are all built in the same factory using the same techs and the same robots. it all depends on whether or not your truck was built on a monday, wednesday or friday.

Between the 680, 880 and the W990 I would rather have the W990. The W900L studio with a couch still my favorite, but this W990 not looking too bad. Looks like the central mounted air filter up on top of the engine. Is that a smaller size filter or is it the standard big canister filter and the camera angle makes it look small. Starting to like the W990 a little more.

I'm partial to wide cab trucks, I couldn't figure out why KW and Pete took so long. I like this design, seeing a W9b, L, and the 990 together you can see the lineage. I get that some can't get over the integrated bunks and the fact that there are no air cleaner cans on the outside. But I'd drive one forsure.

Would like to know that the trk has a 12 spd auto .can you tell me the ratio on the rears . I do like the trk .but really impressed with a paccar mx 13 .run with guys here in Texas that have the earlier models of mx13 and one with the new 510 hp the engines are impressive. trks are in the oilfield .I can tell you up to Gross GVW 161000 that's all she wanted now this was a trk with the earliest paccar mx13 not the 510 hp .that was what sold me on the paccar . These trucks usually haul loads from 80 to 110000 gross weight .the one that hualed the load was set up with 485 hp pac 18 spd and 3.90. tall 24.5 rubber .PS and great fuel mileage .I Know that the trks that run up north are usually set up with big H.P. 18.spd .3.90 rears that's why I'm asking about the running gear with a 12 sp auto .gerat videos .I'm thinking that the paccar mx 13 is going to be the way to go in your normal application . Trust me I've been watching these trucks with tack on motors for three years the efficiency the reliability I can't say enough . For those who want to know what I'm running I run a 550 6NZ 4 axle trk . 4 heavy haul Cummins engines for now but paccar makes a 15 litter that's going to be interesting just saying . keep up the good work Mr Andy

One the w900 is where it’s at. Two. You say too much about somethings that don’t need said and then don’t say enough about others. You’re a little all over the place. Keep it calm and get straight to the point about the truck and options without going too fast. You’re trying too hard to be like peterbilt Steve. I’m not a huge fan of peterbilts but he makes great videos. And also you’re a dealer. You need to know you’re options inside and out.

I'v always been curious about one thing in US made trucks is why the'r living so much salient frame on the back part,isn't it better to keep it short in order not to klinch with trailer when doing some kind of an steep ower-heel drive?You know,when tractor is alredy pass the hill's top but trailer is still on the declined part.For european trucks I belive maximum angle is about eleven degrees,for those long American trucks it must be even lesser.

To answer the first part of your question, the answer is style. It's like the difference between a stock motorcycle and a chopper. The stretch is what counts. As for your other question, I'm not sure which axis you are referring to, but I can't see an issue on a longer truck except turning. If you mean the up/down axis, you have to remember European kingpins are set back farther from the front of the trailer than on US spec trailers.

I don't have an exact reason other than I know that length does vary between trucks depending on numerous factors and The long slope does help pick up trailers that are dropped too low.

Stevie, I agree. It's kinda a "meh", for me. It's more of a glorified T680 than a dumbed down W900. Dash, sleeper, etc are identical to a T680, so you know that's what it's built on. I like my 2017 T680 company truck. I really don't get why Kenworth even went forward with this design. My prediction is that in 2 or 3 years this truck will no longer be in production.
