Machine Gun Billy LaNosty That's funny lol. Leffen will never be the top player in the world. He FINALLY beat M2K when M2K was sick during Apex (call it a john i don't care) and he hasn't beat PPMD in an eternity, and he won't ever beat him again in my eyes, With Armada switching to Fox, he won't beat Armada either. Once Mango gets out of his rut he has been in for the last few tournaments and gets some motivation (which will probably be EVO) he won't beat him either. The only guy Leffen will probably one day be better than is HBox, and even that it a long shot. Sorry.

***** The problem is that usually every player respects Mango, allowing him to do crazy sometimes unsafe stuff but Leffen doesn't respect him at all. He will wait for every ridiculous thing Mango does and punish it without hesitation.

I think that was the first time anyone got in MANGO'S head. He moves and reacts as fast as Mango and he was controlling the pace of the match. He figured out that Mango plays hyper-aggressive, and so he actually played patiently to counter him. Most of the time, Mango plays by overpowering his opponents, and so all Leffen had to do was pump the breaks and punish him. There was a point in the set where it looked like mango caught on, but then he got flustered again. That was still one of the tightest fox/falco matches I have ever seen though.

starfox300 Leffen is the first Fox that has been able to keep up with Mango, so all he had to do was apply the pressure and then suddenly take it off. I don't think I have ever seen mango get so flustered. Leffen out Mango'd Mango!

If you had said that about the Beast V set then I would agree as Mang0 was jetlagged a bit. This one, as many others mentioned, Leffen just straight up outplayed him which gives the appearance that he wasn't playing well. Looking forward to more matches between these two in the future!

If you see the match between Westballz and Mang0 at The Five Gods, or Mang0 vs Armada, you will notice how much the game level progressed, like... it is now way faster and more demanding of skill, but the same people made the upgrade and are having some intense battles, they are pushing the limits.

I love both, but Mango is my favourite Smash player, but I'll admit, he just got outplayed. That's it. Leffen was the better player, at that moment. Mango definitely got in his own head, along with Leffen getting in his head a little. This definitely isn't the MLG and Evo 2014 Mango. Can't win them all, obviously. Mango is still the Melee God and four stocked Leffen like two times. Still happy. Happy for both.

For the same reason why Ken will always be the one and only "King of Smash". The five Gods earned their title by dominating the post-Brawl era of the competitive Melee scene. Leffen is an amazing player but he's only started winning majors recently, so calling him a "God" is just wrong.

The roll at 11:44 wasn't as bad as you might think. MaNg0 had already shielded, stopping his movement, he wasn't in range to grab, and if he had gotten in range, Leffen might have spotdodged. Leffen's shield was angled back towards MaNg0, which means that 1: he's not ready to punish movement in the other direction (as evidenced by how he didn't punish the roll), and he's poised for out of shield options behind him, he'll automatically shield DI in, and jump OoS would go towards MaNg0, probably with a bair. Thanks to the way bair pops out, leffen could jump in place, and not really be threatened by anything MaNg0 could do OoS outside of usmash (which would be ridiculously unsafe if whiffed or it hit Leffen's shield, the latter case was punished in earlier), and do a low, spaced bair that MaNg0 couldn't really punish, or even just tomahawk him because of how advantageous being set up there with the bair is. Falco's aerials in front don't really have the same range, so if he did an aerial to hit Leffen's shield or Leffen, it would either be telegraphed or much less safe, or if he did a retreating aerial, he'd let Leffen get away for free. Staying in shield would also be a terrible option. The roll was quite possibly the safest option, other than rolling the other way, it completely avoids the OoS chicken mini-game. This roll could also count as the only time MaNg0 punished Leffen's fulljumps out of high pressure situations. Almost every match Leffen played this tournament, he would fulljump->aerial to punish some grounded option, and possibly do a high aerial to try to prevent someone from chasing him up. For example, MaNg0 does a single dair on Leffen's shield at 4:11, Leffen fulljumps out and comes down with an aerial, same thing at 1:29. If MaNg0 hadn't shined, or simply jumped out of shine, he could have punished this easily, or in the latter scenario shielded, wavedashed, or done any air-air move. Again, at 5:01, MaNgo laser's Leffen and Leffen double jumps into the air and comes down with a bair. If MaNg0 wasn't acting like an autopilot Falco and immediately running in looking for a grounded hit on a laser from afar, he could have utilted, baired, sh uaired, or even fsmashed leffen, or done something out of shield to punish the jump and potentially take the stock. Again, at 9:01 Leffen does shine OoS into double jump bair, which is finally punished, but MaNg0 doesn't techchase properly when Leffen was knocked down, similar to 5:06, among several other points. At 0:52, 1:20, 1:54, and 5:52 the two being on or near the same platform is enough to cause Leffen to jump, and by 5:52, MaNg0 definitely had enough data points to be ready for it. The only player in the entire tournament who wasn't falling prey to Leffen's jump habits over and over was PPMD. Leffen played great and had a really good sense of what MaNg0 was trying to come in with for the most part, but many of MaNg0's approaches were downright awful. In most situations where MaNg0 had shielded and Leffen wasn't on top of him, MaNg0 tried to do a an aerial moving forward out of shield, something Leffen literally would have had to run into (and Leffen never approached without MaNg0 doing something first). On top of that, at 11:28, MaNg0 does a fulljump, doublejump dair on FD as an approach, and doesn't even fade back (slowing your airspeed but still moving forward is almost never preferable to going in full speed ahead or fading back). I'm not trying to make excuses for MaNg0, but he simply made a lot bad decisions and dropped a lot of punishes. Obviously Leffen played really well, but MaNg0 could have done a lot better, this is not the kind of performance I would expect from one of the best players of all time, especially when his opponent capitalized on similar situation he did not.

Something else: MaNg0 actually was visibly picking up on Leffen's game plan, or at least adjusting to it. In the last game, he attempted to jab at a few points to interrupt Leffen's movement. Too little too late though.

I dunno. I can't really get my head around the whole Leffen hype-train. He's too much of an ass for me to actually like him. I understand that he is pretty good at Smash, but the way he's just not that mature. If he loses, he pouts, throws his controller, and just stomps away. If he wins, then he gets all smug and acts like that kid we all had to deal with in Elementary school who was like "Hah! I beat you! Nana nana boo boo!" Plus, his Fox isn't really that interesting to watch. I know that it's a pretty good Fox, but it's nothing to get too excited about.

ShowCone I suppose, but he shouldn't be allowed to act like an ass just because he's good at the game. I mean, it isn't just Leffen. I used to love Hungrybox, he used to be my favorite Smasher of all time, then I learned that he's such a dickhead; which caused me to hate him instantly. All I'm saying is that Leffen is a complete dick, which I think we can all agree on.
