I pay $150 a year to use a private ramp and avoid the riff raff. Before I broke down and paid the ramp fee I delt with all kinds of crap at the public ramp including one busy Saturday the fire department was actually training a guy how to back the boat down the ramp, at first I thought nobody knew how to back and after about 10 minutes of that crap I offered to back it up for them that's when I was informed it was a training mission at which point I explained how the ramp was supposed to be used and for them to get the fck off the ramp, tempers really flared at that point but they left. 🤣

Man I loved my indoor rack storage... Last time I dealt with launch ramps regularly was in 1993. One time in 18 years did I see somebody get testy with the workers. It was particularly busy and he thought he was waiting too long getting launched. Would not STFU. When my turn came (he was behind me), I hollered at the yard manager on the Wiggins and told him "Get this guy next and maybe he'll shut the hell up!" Everybody in the vicinity cheered and clapped!! After that, they'd see us driving in and my boat would be coming out of the building before we even had our crap out of the car!

Your videos are always great and shows the stress of launching and recovering water craft. In 1983 we worked the hydroplane races in San Diego. The launch ramp for the late afternoon recoveries was a mad house. But we all kept our cool.

They're planning on reconstructing the boat ramp soon. Hopefully there will be more area for vehicles to stage, and launch because the way it currently is can be a real mess at times. Btw, I was there that day witnessing the whole thing and I'd have to say both sides escalated something that could have very easily been squashed. I know buddy in the white truck was frustrated cause he wasn't left much turning room, and buddy who was launching probably wasn't thinking that he was being inconsiderate at the time, and most everyone's opinion on boat ramp etiquette differs. I, myself never have problems at boynton cause I go into the lagoon expecting to pull into the staging docks. Then I line up my trailer and wait my turn

Ok, so I've watched this a few times, and here is how I think this went down. Crew on the right were parked in the middle of the ramp area prepping the boat. Not the place to do this. White truck guy was flipping around to back down the ramp to load. Since there wasn't much room, due to prepping where you shouldn't be prepping, white truck gets close. Right captain (used captain to annoy some people, lol) opens his door which white truck nearly hits and can't complete turn with it in the way. Right crew gets loony and decides prepping there isn't douchie enough and starts with the nonstop language including a N-bomb. Right crew persists and then begins talking ass kicking. White truck gets real pissed and grabs gun. White truck wife sees gun and doesn't want bread winner in prison. White truck returns gun to truck, Right crew still won't shut the hell up. Eventually white truck just wants to leave, but now wife has heard enough and decides to start mouthing off back. White truck guy shouldn't have pulled the gun, but right crew seemed to be the troublemakers and wanted to keep pushing it as far as they could. I wish they had left out their plug and not realized it.

While we don't see it happen, in the first shot the white truck is closer to the other truck than I'd say was necessary or reasonable at the ramp. The narrator then tells us that he rolled up aggressively at a fast clip, on top of that it sounds like he implied or brandished a gun. Yes, they could have stopped once he went back to his boat, but the guy in the white truck earned whatever he got that day.
