Avoid THESE 5 Foods If You Have Diabetes or Pre-diabetes...According to a study published online in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), nearly 50% of adults living in the U.S. have pre-diabetes or diabetes. If that doesn't blow your mind this next statistic will. Diabetes is one of the leading causes of blindness, amputations, kidney failure, obesity, strokes, and heart attacks.
In my book Vegucation Over Medication I explain how many of the diseases we think are genetic are simply diseases of nutrition. Diabetes (especially Type II) is definitely created with our spoons and forks. So learn which foods to avoid in this video to help prevent the development or progression of diabetes.

He's right. I was told I was Pre-diabetic. The doctor ONLY wanted to discuss putting me on Metformin. I told her "NO". I took control in changing my diet. Increased my exercise routine. I check my glucose at home. My numbers are well below 120. Usually around 80-88. I lost 7 pounds. And this has been since March this year. Most doctors want you to make the pharmaceutical companies rich. It won't be me.🚶‍♀️🧎‍♀️🏃‍♀️🚴‍♀️🧘‍♀️ Putting in the work.

I was a type 2 diabetic. I started my lifestyle shift at 258lbs last year . I took out everything you said avoid and I went plant base. Within one month I was down 15lbs. I kept up with my new lifestyle and still going strong. I was taken off insulin after being on it for 10 years. I'm proud to say I'm currently 197 and still shedding. I'm not stopping! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾. I shared this to say that it CAN be done! My Endocrinologist told me I would NEVER be able to get off insulin and I would be a diabetic forever... diabetic where?! I think not! For those struggling set a goal and take one day at a time. My husband would say to me "Trust the process and have fun". I listened and now I'm having fun 🤩 You can do anything! Just set your mind on it.

I don’t know what led me to this video, but here I am. I'm diabetic. Both of my parents died with diabetes. I never know how a meal is going to make me feel, but I feel horrible, and I want to do better. I want to see my nephews become grown men. I want my body to reflect my vibrant spirit. Before your video popped up, I was thinking of ordering a crustless pizza (I figured that was the healthier option). But this video stopped me. As you talked about everything that came with diabetes, I started crying because those are all things my parents had and things I'm dealing with now. I apologize for this long message. But I need you to know that this video changed my decision today. I pray that it continues to help me make better choices because I have so much life in me.

You poor dear, I've struggled with diabetes for more than 20 years and let me tell you the truth. It's a daily fight. Leave stuff at the store for starters. Each day I start with a A Big bowl of Mixed Greens Salad and small portions of fresh fruit is what I eat for breakfast. I let go of sugary snacks, pie, cake, rice, potatoes, bread (although I bake my own bread and freeze the slices) and corn for the most part. But as a human, once in a while I may have them with a meal. I had switched to beans for a while, but still high in carbs. Had to let them go as well. Except curried lentils with sage and okra. Once in a while. So I went back to greens, cooked kale, mustard, collards. Mixed greens salad with celery, bits of apple, red onion, bell pepper, avocado...you get it. Mix it up for variety. Watch serving sizes We will all fall off every now and then of our routine. I still like potato salad, french fries, cake and pie. But not if it's killing me, blinding me, or causes me not to be cute by cutting off my limbs. It's a choice that we have to make every day by what we put in our mouths. What do you want your outcome to be with diabetes? Those daily choices add up. So maybe once every 5 or 6 months I may have rice, or spaghetti, or corn. It won't kill me just once, then it's back to the routine. It's having it daily that will kill you. Only you can decide how you want your future to be. Sugar and starches are poison in the diabetic body. Sugar makes you blind, kills your vision, kidneys, gives you neuropathy (painful nerve dying in your hands and feet). Then you are amputated and if you want to be sitting around in a wheelchair chair with a diaper waiting on someone to come by to help you potty, or clean your potty because you've lost your feet and can't stand up ...Keep eating those wrong foods you will guarantee this result. If that's what you want, keep making the "choices" that lead to that. If it's not what you want.....Go Greens and simple meat protein and fight to avoid the bad future like your life depends upon it, because it does. Not fried. Work toward your good health. And get off the meds. Lose the weight and let go of the sweet bad drinks, Water is your best friend, all day, every day. Don't stress, remember God made man and placed him in the garden, not at McDonald's. Learn what. 'Clean Foods" are.

Thanks, brother. You've reminded an old man how irresponsible he eats for comfort. I'm a type 1 diabetic who selfishly decided to follow his father's teachings who always complained, "If I'm going to die of something, I'll die eating what I want." He passed away in his 70s from cancer and diabetic complications after several amputations as an avid smoker. You know how our folk love potatoes, rice, sweet potato pie, and sweet tea. I'm currently on a regimen to be more active and eat responsibly. I'm going to listen and avoid the 5 foods as you suggest and try to read your book Vegucation Over Medication because I'd like to live into my 80s with all my pieces. Hopefully, after reading your book, I'll know exactly how to eat much healthier, because eating just baked chicken for the rest of my life sounds boring.

Brilliant explanation from beginning to end…. I’m not diabetic and don’t ever want to be a diabetic since seeing so many people around me falling into the trappings of a careless lifestyle when it comes to food and nutrition… I have found over the years that teaching diabetics about their bad habits is a non starter … they are just fixated on carbs sugar carbs sugar etc… Plenty of water in any diet is essential as is exercise… exercise allows you to burn off any excess sugar or fat…. I started checking my one Blood sugar levels to see what could trigger a rise in sugar levels if I eat certain foods… as I don’t take sugar every rare… a 1kg bag of molasses sugar lasts a year in our house… I am enjoying checking the things I eat…. I used to eat rice 4 times a week and potatoes as part of a meal almost everyday…👀 I stopped because most foods don’t taste the same or right… I eat brown basmati rice and whole wheat flour once in a blue moon… the onus is upon the Individual to make the effort to live not to die of all these unpleasant side effects….most diabetics I know will gorge on foods and deny eating foods that harm them… I watch a friend eat 3 meals in one hour never exercise …. Portion sizes mean nothing … your body is your temple and you only get one … the medical system is about how to serve and their guinea pigs👀 to make money hence the name changes for the same thing called sugar… they know that most won’t even read a label ever…

Dr. Price this is the most I have learned about Diabetes since the doctor told me I was prediabetic in 2006. Doctors really don't tell you much except to learn to read labels. Everything else I know I learned from reading about Diabetes. I kept a journal of everything I ate and what was in it, especially carbs. I ate no meal with more then 45 carbs and no more than 5 grams of sugar although I cut all sugar out. I got my blood sugar down to 5.4 and an average of 5.7 through diet only because of a mobility problem with back injuries. The first thing I got was a book from the Diabetes Assoc. and their monthy maginzine with recipes. With your video today I have an understanding of Diabetes I have never had before and I thank you so much Dr. Price. I intend to share this with all of my contacts because there are those that really need to know these things. Thank you again Dr. Price and may God bless you always.

Dr. Price: I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. The endocrinologist did tell me that it can be reversed. Now I am more health conscious because I will not die like my mother who never listed and ate all the bad and wrong food which led to her demise. I feel better by eliminating most of the processed food and unhealthy meats such as pork and shell food. I am walking a lot more and do not suffer with any neuropathy. Please continue to fight and campaign for those of who are working to free of this dreadful disease. I already know 6 individuals whose diabetes have gone into remission due to life changes. God bless you.

Thank you- I’ve been collected and sifting through what works for the last three years I had to diagnose myself with prediabetes (because as you said- NO dietary advice from the MD…) and yours is the most no-nonsense, and straightforward. One thing I have to suggest though; don’t assume somebody with diabetes can’t give advice about it LOL, because you may not know what order it happened. For example, if they were giving instruction and acting the authority and THEN developed diabetes, they provably are behind the curve. However, even though we all have to keep learning forever… somebody like myself who had no (or bad) advice from others, who used to be ripped and athletic but got hurt, depressed, and kept eating as if needing fuel for muscles he used to have AND desserts each week from depression.. then develops diabetes… then gets determined to live again… probably knows a lot about it.

Recently I was having issues with constant heartburn and my esophagus was hurting when I swallowed food, I went to an IG specialist and he told me I needed a procedure so he could see what’s going on but that I would most likely would need to take meds for the rest of my life. When I asked him if changing my diet would make a difference he said, “no” that I would need to take meds for the rest of my life. I noticed his expensive shoes and suit, he needs to keep his patients on meds so he can see them regularly. No way am I taking meds for life when I already noticed a big difference by avoiding sugar and bread.

I pretty much eat 75% healthy. Meaning, my grocery list includes plenty of veggies [kale, spinach, cabbage, collards, cucumbers, squash, zucchini guacamole] I bought a subscription for water delivery. Drinking 4 gallons of water per week. Working out 3 times a week with a personal trainer. Like what else can I possibly do? Per my doctor I stopped eating fruit; mango apples banana pear. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I revisit my doctor on 7/11/23. Thanks in advance for any remedies used that would be useful.

I was recently diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic about a year ago. My previous endocrinologist mistakenly diagnosed me as Type 2 and had me on Metformin for several years. I now wear a permanent Dexcom meter under my arm and it monitors my glucose intake and I am also on (2) different types of insulin (Lispro 4x a day before each meal and Lantus at night time before bed). I will try to fast each day but my body goes into Hypoglycemic Shock (glucose drops below 40 almost every single day and I get weak, dizzy, light headed and very faint). The insulins (which are considered steroids) have caused me to gain (65 Lbs), as I went from 135 Lbs. (Perfect BMI) to now 200 Lbs; being a Diabetic isn’t easy and it really sucks to be honest, but I give God thanks every single day for LIFE and I have found a diet and exercise routine that works well for me. Fight the good fight that’s worth fighting for, because I have so much to live for🙏🏽❤️

I can actually feel a big difference since I've adjusted my diet. I haven't totally eliminated the refined carbohydrates, but If I do eat one, it's a small amount and for only one meal, not all three meals. My weakness is pasta, rice, potatoes and cheese. Thank you for this very informative information because my doctor told me that I was at risk for pre-diabetes in three to five years. I was not receiving her report so I started taking charge of what I was eating. However, in the last year or so I have noticed that I had begun to eat more of the foods that I had once stopped eating. You know like fried chicken and I have eaten more sweets than usual. I believe must was like comfort food, and also some anxiety after losing both my aunt and cousin within the last two years. Thank God for my spiritual family and my Leaders who always point me to the Word of God for guidance, Thank you Dr. Price, I am a label reader also. Sometimes when I read the labels and all the ingredients with names I cannot even pronounce I just say Lord, what can I eat I must be truthful I have never eaten mushrooms but I love vegetables and fruits. I know that you were God sent I had never even heard of you until my sister in Christ told me about you and I have been taking notes and changing my way of eating. Because God said that He would satisfy us with long life, I have to do my part. Keep doing what you are doing. May God continue to bless you in this Open Door Season.

I've been screened for diabetes since childhood + this little tap on the shoulder was more than enough to get my act together. thank you for making such a helpful video, dear brotha 🙏🏽. I am so glad I came across ur videos. I went through some kind of awakening about 7-8years ago. Started eliminating meat from my diet, walking away from old religious beliefs. Now I walk a very light, no meat, mostly plant based life. I take no medication, have never been diagnosed with any disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol. I am almost 53 @ 5’6, 130lbs and have 4 grown children. I notice now that I have no desire to eat at all now, I pick and pick and get full so fast. I take a variety of supplements. Iron and b12, vit d, calcium magnesium and zinc, spirulina, chlorella, sea moss bladderwrack and burdock root, red panax ginseng,Arjuna, ashwaganda. Because I don’t like to eat so much, these are the reasons, I want to stay completely nourished. I also drink alkaline water and drink from a copper water bottle. Because I hear the benefits are amazing. I am also a cook by trade and am always cooking. Not sure if the contributes to me not wanting to eat?

This is life-changing information that we never get at the doctors office or in the school. I appreciate it so much. It has me ready to make a few changes. I didn’t eat bad but I can definitely be better with what you recommend it. Will you show us how to read labels?

This video is very informative and very scary at the same time. I'm in my 40's now and I've thinking about all the junk I've been putting in my body for the last decade. I'm eating healthy now but I hope it's not too late for catastrophic failure in my body. My V.A. doctor did tell me that I have pre-diabetes before I went on this deployment.

I am so glad I stumbled on your video. Diabetes is also on the rise here in the UK especially in the black community. My family has a history of diabetes, my mum passed away from the disease. Since then I have changed the way I eat - cut out ketchup, baked beans and other sugar products. Unfortunately, one of my sisters was recently diagnosed with the disease. Thanks so much for a very detailed and informative video, I will share this wit my sister and others.

I was on Ozempic. I lost 40 pounds. I am off Ozempic for a month now. I am not taking meds for diabetes anymore. My bloodwork is fine. I have gained 5 pounds and feel so much more healthy without meds. Go figure. :)
