Path of Exile 3.13 with the Echoes of the Atlas expansion is upon us, as well as Ritual League. All Ascendancies have been rebealanced as well as buffs and nerfs to several skill gems. What is the new meta? What is the best league starter build? Which are the winners and losers of the patch notes? Did my favourite build survive or is it unplayable? Aura stacking, golemancers, Assassins and more ... We look at all these questions while also discussion balance in PoE in general with our amazing guest, Balormage who brings a lot of trade league expertise of the kind Badger and myself usually don't think about too much.

they should change it so that firestorm becomes firestorm/vaal firestorm.. the normal form will be the small chunks for clear and vaal will be the big boy oompfwtfbbq with massive dmg from the sky.. thematic and they can lump all kinds of goodie scaling on the vaal portion

The totems got a increase from 3% more damage per totem to 5% per totem, that helps a lot to make a build with several totems (soul mantle + shaper shield) really get a big multiplier

I havent finished the episode, but loved it so far. I think one of my thoughts on the Echoes content is that while it is all certainly profitable I do think you can quickly the content harder than you can handle. Lots of people are going to screw themselves iinto some epic rips

Personal opinion: They need to bring back white or yellow Elder (or some sort of boss fight at those tiers). I have fought Sirus once (for the first time last week) and got him to Phase 3(?) and lost all portals. I really want some easier end-game boss fights (even if they don't drop that high tier dank loot) on my path to getting stomped by Sirus

Yes I'm absolutely with you on that one. Or simply let us redo white and yellow conquerors when we reroll a new character.

I think we need both and we kinda do have both right now. Conquerors are pretty much a joke, they only really present a threat with 4 watchstones and Sirus is the current "big bad" so he's supposed to be hard. I think Elder and Shaper are in a really good spot, they take investment to reach but aren't too hard on their own if your build is properly geared while Uber Elder is nearly always a significant threat (my personal favorite bossfight). Perfect situation would be to have the Atziri model for all fights, having one easier and one harder with different loot and preferably even different mechanics but that multiplies the amount of work for GGG several times so that ain't gonna happen. All in all I think it's in a pretty decent spot now.

@@wolvie90 Going to disagree because the lower tier fights are not repeatable. If my build cannot fight through red-tier maps and [[red tier hunter chaos dots]] I am not going to be able to get to a point where I can force conquerers to spawn at lower tiers again and get that influence loot. With white and yellow elder it was fine that I had some semi-repeatable content that I could do while my build was busy huffing glue or whatever it was doing. I guess what I'm saying is that your build has to be able to comfortably do the really really difficult stuff in order to get to a spot where you can repeatedly do the lower tier stuff which is a.) significantly harder to achieve and b.) blocks out a lot of builds that aren't streamer S+ tier.

@@subsoniclight Hmm I've never actually noticed you can't keep doing lower tier conquerors without completing the Sirus questline. The thing is though your build has to be extremely scuffed for you to hit a wall you can't get passed with some relatively cheap upgrades and funding those upgrades comes from general mapping, not getting lucky with a boss drop. The number of builds that can do A1 Sirus comfortably on a 5ex budget is probably in the hundreds, you don't need a "streamer S+ tier" build to get to that point. Even if it does look chaotic and random, all bosses in PoE are pretty mechanical and predictable once you understand their patterns and I suggest you choose a build for Ritual that is naturally tanky without investment so that you can learn those mechanics. I do agree tho low tier Conquerors should be repeatable and I legit did not know they weren't. I do still think there should be bosses that require investment and mechanical skill to beat.

Balor has a very singular take on how he plays the game. I can see that it might come of as arrogant at first. But I think it came across pretty clearly during the discussion that he knows that his approach is a very specific one. Also he just knows his stuff really well and does his research very thoroughly before forming opinions on builds and game mechanics. And he's a really chill dude imo.

Telling people to respec the atlas if they mess up or to experiment, when the respect orb is apparently roughly as rare as a exalt. I dont think respecing will be cheap for a normal player. Also Balor Sirus is insanely hard for me not because i dont understand the fight, the fight is brutal with unstable internet and high ping. try fighting him when he becomes invisible dodging his die beam then just to die to it while he isnt even facing you when he teleport you to the ring you get stuck in the rock or running between storms just to die in the storm you run between. Edit: changed tree to atlas to be more clear what i meant.

It's respec, not respect. Respect means something totally different. Regret orbs are quite common and cheap so it isn't expensive to respec even for casual players.

Atlas map system must be made even easier for newcomers, the game's entry threshold shall be lowered by a greater margin. Because seeing those PRO poe streamers abusing map farming really discourages to play the game. Devs, i hope you'll have this in your mind.

its a single player game man, just play it your pace and have fun, you dont need to be the most efficient all the time, just play for fun (its a game) and being more efficient will come with experience. You can even go ssf, these last leagues and league mechanics brought it much closer, even for people not playing 20hrs a day and it helps you to lose the urge to compete with streamers

I know it sounds stupid but I'm sorry to say, I simply can't listen nor respect someone who plays minions and complains about necromancer and nerfs (Balor). That playstyle is COMPLETELY BROKEN, and has been for years ! These small nerfs are ridiculously insignificant, and an insult to intelligence.

@@kokorochin01 don't really think so, except a few players here and there a lot of necro players are strong but don't have crazy dps, they don't instant phase sirus and they often trade survivabilty for damage. The real advantage is that it's not keyboard intensive. And the worst thing is that the nerf executed this way will barely affect op necros, but hit hard more average players that are just decent

@@david-csmhaltero77 You may not think so, but it's a fact. As an example many top streamers are laughing at these nerfs and still starting necromancer for 3.13. Braindead playstyle and extreme risk/reward/efficiency compared to any other playstyle.

@@kokorochin01 streamers are streamers, they don't represent the whole necro playerbase of the game, also the ones that I have seen don't really laugh at it. And of course people who like the playstyle, like I also do, will still play necro. But this time not my usual off-meta spectres with 4M dps, but only glass cannon 40M builds. See where it leads ? It may get even worse than before
