When every bartender is gone and there's an abnormally large amount of people at the bar that aren't being helped...you don't have the be the best owner or even be a half ass owner to realize something is wrong.

In any business, the owner/manager has to know how to do every job in the building from top/down. This is done to 1) make sure everything is done right 2) they need to jump in and help 3) they need to properly train people to do a job

I’ve commented on this on a previous video: the bar where John pulled the bar tenders and the owner didn’t notice is insane. Someone did point out last time I brought this up, “If John Taffer asks you to step outside, you step outside.” And fair, sure, but I’m still amazed that they all agreed to it. Lol.

while the one bartender that left after the girls ordered a gimlet and a whiskey sour, and she didnt know how to make them properly, definitely handled that situation poorly. those girls were hella rude to her for no reason. regardless of how classic or common a gimlet may be to them, a little bit of grace goes a long way. the bartender even asked if they could help her out since she didnt know, and they just mocked her to her face. I wouldnt want to serve people that just insulted my profession to my face and laughed at me. she shouldnt have walked out, and she proved her attitude was trash the next day, but i dont blame her for her reaction.

I love the ambush style stress test. For one, it's completely implosable. I've worked a lot of security gigs, and it never happens like that. People trickle in, by ones, twos and fours. When the joint fills up, and the band takes the stage, the focus is off the servers. One of the worst gigs I attended as an audience member was a Livestock show in Zephyrhills. I was wearing a large black T-shirt and two deputies flipped it up before I got through the gate. Patted down, they discovered my Swiss army knife. I inherited it from my father. I was offered the opportunity to cast into a bin or take it back to my vehicle. I chose the second option. In doing so, I missed the opportunity to see Joe Satrioni, the main reason I was there. The story gets worse, but I'll stop there. A good gig seeks to give patrons a memorable experience, for the right reasons.:)

It's pretty common in the food industry. Especially night shift. When I worked nights, everyone was either hammered or high by close, even the boss. We still did our jobs well (constantly broke profit records), but the reward of alcohol was (is) a great motivator. Especially when you make minimum wage.

A shot should be no more than 1.5 ounces. When bartenders drink the start pouring double and triple shots because they start feeling good and get careless. I’m so sick of bartenders thinking it’s ok to drink while they’re working. I’ve seen people try and buy a bartender a shot and more often than not I’ve seen them take it. It’s so sickening. Bartenders… you are they’re to work. You are not there to party and treat your job like you’re own personal party hole. Do that on your own time not at the expense of your employer. Seriously these bartenders are a liability at this rate and not employees.
