A corporate tool who recoils awkwardly anytime Bill says something remotely controversial is not someone who gets anything but an over-inflated paycheck. Bill is brought on because he increases Conan's ratings, and Bill is happy to play the game because he can hold his own on stage. Conan's presence is entirely unnecessary in all these bits.

@@HoochGuy In the above sentence "radical" refers to the word "candid". It in no way suggests that Bill Burr is a "radical" rather that his degree of "candor" is "radical", obviously in relation to other versions of candor such as "timidly candid" or "whiny-ass candid" or "hyper-politically-correct candid". Ivy League schools aren’t about being hard, they’re about being elite. Their purpose is to find and accept those who are most likely to maintain the status quo, get them in one place under the guise of education, and then when they graduate allow them access to the highest places of power in our society so that they can be the next “leaders” to maintain the status quo on behalf of those who benefit from it the most.

Yep I went to SMU private school and being the opposition of TCU. Every university is the same. I started off in community college. It is the equivalent of fashion clothes. You have expensive material more likely to receive a positive perception about you ( even though it could be false) Just the way bureaucracy works my friend. As one of my friends stated “We don’t attend private universities for the sake of education, as much for the sake of connections ” Social status🙃😏 Oh well

@@marceldwayne8491 Great analogy. As a designer, except for, maybe, that last 5% of product, which are the result of really good material and intimate attention to detail, most of it is built like mid tier, mass produced items. 1st cost is the same as a majority of expensive mass produced items. What Conan says is absolutely right. If you major in English at North Dakota State or major in English at Harvard I guarantee you the level of difficulty as far as classes go, would be relatively similar. The real battle is getting INTO those top tier universities, and of course being rich and/or related to alumni or notable people means half that battle is already won.

Conan actually is right here. I went to Oklahoma State and my cousin (same age) went to Brown (1 of 8 Ivy league schools). Over Christmas at our grand parents house our Sophmore year we are still taking our basics and talking about the differences in the challenge. What we deduced is you're being taught the same information and it's the same work load. the only difference is the teachers at Brown are smarter and the actual diploma from Brown looks fancier in certain arenas. $120,000 for a Bachelor's at Brown vs around $30,000 at O.S.U. for my finance degree. This was 2001-2005 for reference.

Pete Pike - a friend of my Dad’s, who went to Harvard, told me back in the 80’s when I was applying to colleges that they use the same books at Harvard as they do at UGA. Good look on your chosen career.

The instructors or professors make the difference. I took an online class last summer and the lightbulb clicked on what I should've done back in elementary school and high school so that learning and understanding would've been easier.

This is so true. Unnecessary barriers set for candidates have been played out for too long not only in college, but anywhere else. It's justifiable only before it's turned into a prop for a sheer image of "prestige." Once you are in, you are fine!
@kylecrane4376
@kylecrane4376 2 жыл бұрын
What 'prestige' anyway? They crank out degrees like a wood mill makes 2x4's. There is little higher learning going on. We just created a $50,000 to $150,000 gate system to employment that keeps a lot of people well paid in academia.

@@kylecrane4376 The top students at a community college are probably just as good as the ivies, expect maybe for stem unis like MIT, those guys are suckers for punishment. I would say that if you get FCH at any decent college, you are probably really intelligent and competent. In addition, i would also argue that the course would also say something, if you are a math major in a decent university(even community college) with a good gpa, you are certifiably a genius.
