That´s not a trailer, it is a death trap. Glad we have better ones in Europe that are not a safety hazard for other road users.

You should see our trailers in the US. The bumper is usually non existent or falling off from corrosion.

BMW X5 in China market is different from other market especially build quality,material standards and equipments you have to mention and realize noticeable influence whereby crash test result in variable facts

Don't many vehicles have automatic brake assist in situations like this? Prevention is key.

Yes, you'll notice on all tests they have to tape up the camera/radar systems to prevent them from engaging. So most of these types of crashes you would think would be avoided.

This test is actually critical because it test the passive defense of the car. In realty I fought you will be the driver that hit someone else, but if someone drive to your car while you waiting at traffic light your can't won't be drive away by itself to avoid an accident either so that assist is useless, thus the structure of the car is critical in saving passenger life.

Shame on the manufacturer, saved money on knee airbags so you need to buy a BMW brand wheelchair for life. A & B Pillar is so weak, its basically a deathwish to drive this car.

What a comparison? BMW X5 worse than a BYD? Really? I can tell you why. Offset at the BYD is almost 50%, at the X5 maybe 25-30%. Why do I say that? Have a look yourself. The BYD loses its entire right Wheel at the bumper of the truck and reduces therefore lots of impact Energy with the wheel and the higher offset of the body. At the X5 only the plastic Cover of the vendor is shaved off. Most of the impact energy has to be consumed by the A and B columns. What a surprise…

​@@epmuoibonBecause it is a trailer issue, not a car issue. In Euroo and the USA trailers have much stronger protetcion bars. These look like they are there juat for the visuals.
