Love this pattern and the cheat secret of the first row!! Whenever I make a round scarf I'm always afraid I am going to get it twisted. Thank you very much for this tutorial, I can't wait to make one. Colleen in NH, USA

I LOVE THIS PATTERN! Was super simple and the directions were very clear and easy to follow. When I got done i even had trouble finding the connecting seam! Made it single yarn and that was a perfect weight for me. Thank you so much for making these wonderful tutorials. ( have also made the "Ribbed Scarf and a "Mile A Minute afghan)

Awesome teacher. This cross stitch can be used to make a nice blanket. I am going to use thus stitch and do a DC in the BLO and see what kind of effect it produces. Thank you.

I absolutely LOVE your KZbin videos. What I love most is that you make the extreme point of how we should join our rows. That has been a problem for me for years. You explain how we want our crosses to line up and show us how. Also, I love how you tell us when we go through the top loop and when we go through BOTH loops, (which is kind of confusing in a written pattern.) When I print out a pattern, I clip the little title in the box of bobwilson123 and save them so when my friends want to know how I do something, I hand them the slip of paper so that they can find your website. They are always confused otherwise with the name bob Wilson. I told them your name was Clare and as far as I knew, Bob Wilson was your dog. So the clipped title saves me the time of explaining. I just love you.

A comment for shorter folks. I am 5'2" 130 lb & did make mine 50" long, as in the video. Love the pattern! (Alternated 7 rows of DC & cross stitch), but wish I had made mine shorter for a tighter fit around my neck. I can almost wrap it around 3 times, but not quite. I did use 2 strands, so nice weight. Your videos are great!

This was a lovely item to crochet, I enjoyed it immensely. I have enjoyed learning many new stitches from your site. You are an easy instructor to follow. Thank you. There is a stitch that I wish to learn, although I have crocheted for years, I am only just now learning to follow a pattern. In my book it is called the "Afghan Square" it looks similar to a granny square but the X is more pronounced. Do you know it? I can't figure out how to get my beginning to start correctly.

I am new to crochet. I have tried making cowls but the seem to curl in at the ends. I count all stitches to be the same number everytime, but it still curls in. Could it be that my tension is tight on the way back over on the chain but gradually loosens up as i go up or what do you think

Hi bobwilson123, # of chains would be multiples of 2? and if using two strands do you use the next larger size needle or same size needle? Your two strand scarf looks so fluffy.
@CrochetwithClare
@CrochetwithClare 10 жыл бұрын
Yes you will need it to be multiples of 2. If using 2 strands you will need to use a larger size hook that you would normally use or else it will be to tight and stiff.

I was wondering if you could help me with something... A friend at work runs the relay for life fundraising for our store and she asked me to make headbands. I would love to do this pattern for two reasons. It looks great done and it's fast for me to do. I was wanting to know if it could be turned into a headband? Thank you for all the videos you post!
@CrochetwithClare
@CrochetwithClare 8 жыл бұрын
+Alicia Phillips Yes I think so,you will be just making a mini version, I would make a chain big enough to do around your head, join and complete the pattern, you will need less rounds :) hope this helps

Hello! This may seem like a weird question but I am wondering, how did you get the twist shape with the cowl for the double wrap look? I really like the design with the twist but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it, lol. Each time I try, the cowl unwraps itself and goes back to being long. Any help is appreciated! Thank you in advance!! :)
@CrochetwithClare

Hello ! I am not really sure LOL I have doubled up the cowl - put it on your neck, cross it over so when you look down you have a X and then put the new loops over your head - this is how i always wear my scarves :)

bobwilson123 Thanks for your reply ... I made it 45 inches and it can be wrapped around 3 times but doesnt go tight so could be made smaller maybe 30-35 inches to only double over ... the child i made it for loves it tho and at the size it can fit an adult doubled over ( i tried it on myself :) )
