Every night during recruitment I asked “what made you choose *enter sorority”. It really gave me insight to them as a person and about the sorority. Especially how long it takes to answer the question and how they answered it!

lowkey asu is a scam hahahah. in my opinion they’re a business first and university second which to me means they care more about money than their students education so just keep that in mind. but that’s just my opinion
@diwalata21054 жыл бұрын
Keegan Acton u replied 😳 ok, ngl, i just googled ‘best school for my major’ and saw ASU is no. 39 in psychology plus the school is just below our state and 4 hours away, so i was like ‘hmm, ok ASU it is’ thinking that it’s all good and set lolol. even tho u are studying at ASU, u said that to me, a ‘future’ student (omg i luv u sm)😂 i appreciate u for saying that. i’ll keep that in mind!!
@DestyTvDesty4 жыл бұрын
Keegan Acton i go to asu too and I totally agree. However I think that majority of American universities are like this too. It’s just our trash government and education system. There’s no reason schools should be this expensive in the first place, it’s awful.

This is sad for me as a first gen low income college student. I would like to dip my feet into sorority just to get a sense. But they really are so expensive and aren’t the best option unless if I want to burn myself out. I wish they were more accommodating to low income students. But it’s all good because I’ve joined other clubs that give me the same experience.
@yesigamboa30854 жыл бұрын
Try out professional greek organizations, they are generally way less expensive!
@joyfuljaj4 жыл бұрын
@@yesigamboa3085 I was going to make the same suggestion. At my school the only professional Greek organizations were for specific majors. It's always worth looking at options though. My roommate was in a social sorority and a professional sorority. She really spent more time doing stuff related to the professional one as she was a band member and involved in several musical groups. The distinguishing thing in her social sorority was that they really encouraged their girls to be active outside the sorority. Not that the others didn't, but the girls I have known in hers did not identify themselves by their sorority. They were close to their sisters, but you could have known them a while and not known they were in a sorority. I had known girls before I started college in the same chapter and noticed the same thing about them. I guess you could say they were the least stereotypical sorority girls on campus. sorry for the long off topic post.

I live in Spain and the average price for my degree, for one year is 800-900€ more or less, so when you said that you change to pay that much money just for the sorority i was soooo impressed!😱 I never knew you had to pay thousands to join!

In the Netherlands we don’t have sororities, really. We do have student clubs, sorta. They don’t have houses/buildings where we come together, they’re often mixed genders, and we just host fun parties, events, drinks (18 is the legal drinking age) and just do fun things. My student club (it’s the best, pretty small and creative) luckily didn’t do this as they’re very against it, but most of them require you to go through some sort of hazing. It’s completely legal tho, but it just really really sucks. I pay €70 a YEAR lol, which is on the lower end of the spectrum. My best friend is in a very popular student club/union that is a little bit more expensive, but they also do the hazing and require you to live within the city or go to a specific school, which again, just sucks. Can you tell I love my little student club hahah ❤️

Does anyone think it’s worth it to virtually recruit. I wanted to rush again this fall but now that it’s virtual the experience won’t be the same at all and I want to be able to actually tap to ppl and get a good vibe from them in person you know. Should I wait for the spring or next fall??
@camigaunt26424 жыл бұрын
Kelsy Powsang I personally would do it. Being in a sorority is so much more fun when you’re past the new member stage because you’re allowed to more fully participate in everything. You might lose the typical bid day experience and things like that but I don’t think that’s as important as when you’re really into the sorority
