You can't trust people like him, he's woke, so he's going to always make sure he says just enough to slightly appease/not infuriate certain crowds. So he says this so he doesn't fully appear to be a villain to that/my crowd (yes, I'm part in that demographic, for what that's worth), and it just comes out basically being a non-statement, and a total clown show when you make statements in a way to play politics.

Give me a break. No, targeted thuggery is not sports. Play her tough, make things as hard as possible, but play basketball. Caitlin has continually been the target of hard, unnecessary fouls that refs just ignore. Officiating has been abysmal. Rebecca Lobo pointed out in the Liberty game that the refs were FINALLY calling fouls where defenders were reaching in and impeding Clark's movement. If you don't consistently call fouls being committed, then things will continue to escalate. This latest incident just ignited the frustration fans have been watching since her first WNBA game.

Wow. Disconnected comments. NHL got rid of dirty play. NBA got rid of this. NFL does not tolerate this. It should have been a have been a flagrant 2, a fine and a one game suspension. This is on the biggest stage for the “W” and it’s not a good look. WNBA should figures this out, pretty obvious this is different and it’s just playing dirty. A flagrant foul is not trash talking. If every trash talking event leads to this then I guess logic would mean it’s ok for anyone to act this way regardless of the moment. That’s just dumb. WNBA and all the “established stars” mean nothing without more eyeballs on the league and paying the bills. People will turn this off if this continues and the WNBA will go back to roller derby status.

That equal "treatment" of rookies needs to go both ways. Fouls should be called the same for everybody. Flagrants are in place in both pro BB leagues to protect against some (small-brained with poor self-control) players wanting to inflict serious injury, right? Caitlin, by her own statements, is tough enough to take it, but if she gets injured or has to miss significant games, the sold-out arenas will eventually GO AWAY. The charter flights will eventually GO AWAY. The new fans to the Wnba will eventually GO AWAY. This is sports? That's something talking heads say but is not true.

Dan and his cohost are one of the few media people to speak with common sense on this subject. Everything they said was correct.

You can mention previous college star players coming to the league and receiving same treatment, but NONE of them came to this sorry league and brought with her millions of fans and attention..take care of your pot of gold is what I say, but they don't seem to know what they have with Clark. Just may abruptly stop with shangrila life before they know it, it's coming//

but dan, come on, trash talking doesn't deserve to be blindsided. and i disagree it's sports, it's fighting. not sports. bb should be about bb, not fighting. and i don't look forward to the next game, i'm thinking of quitting and i'm not. bb should be non contact, even the NBA isn't as violent. what thomas did to reese, and got ejected, that's not sports. this is street bb, not professional bb. it makes me sick and i'm disappointed in you dan.

what we don't know is who stared the back and forth, when you get physical is usually when you're losing the argument. Example- Carter-----You aint nothing but hype, I'm gona shut your skinny butt down. Clark--- by the way, when are your signature shoes coming out.------ You can see where this would go.

Stupid take, because the more it appears that jealous lesbians want to play yard rules hoops, the fans will stop watching. And the league can go back to begging men for money
