When Angel got smacked a flagrant foul was issued and the player was ejected but in caitlin's case it was called a common foul and not a flagrant foul. The refs turned a blind eye in caitlin's case and that's the problem. And on top of it the ball wasn't inbounded yet. That's not a basketball play and little kids are watching these games now.

Give me a break. No, targeted thuggery is not sports. Play her tough, make things as hard as possible, but play basketball. Caitlin has continually been the target of hard, unnecessary fouls that refs just ignore. Officiating has been abysmal. Rebecca Lobo pointed out in the Liberty game that the refs were FINALLY calling fouls where defenders were reaching in and impeding Clark's movement. If you don't consistently call fouls being committed, then things will continue to escalate.This latest incident just ignited the frustration fans have been watching since her first WNBA game.

Wow. Disconnected comments. NHL got rid of dirty play. NBA got rid of this. NFL does not tolerate this. It should have been a have been a flagrant 2, a fine and a one game suspension. This is on the biggest stage for the “W” and it’s not a good look. WNBA should figures this out, pretty obvious this is different and it’s just playing dirty. A flagrant foul is not trash talking. If every trash talking event leads to this then I guess logic would mean it’s ok for anyone to act this way regardless of the moment. That’s just dumb. No he's not. His understanding of the situation is stupid at best. Why was Carter not assessed the same foul punishment as the player who fouled Angel Reese? That equal "treatment" of rookies needs to go both ways. Fouls should be called the same for everybody. Flagrants are in place in both pro BB leagues to protect against some (small-brained with poor self-control) players wanting to inflict serious injury, right? Caitlin, by her own statements, is tough enough to take it, but if she gets injured or has to miss significant games, the sold-out arenas will eventually GO AWAY. The charter flights will eventually GO AWAY. The new fans to the Wnba will eventually GO AWAY.
