Really superb! I'm transitioning to as much vegan as possible for a number of reasons. I'm not a zealot about it but I find it's not a sacrifice for me at all. I love veggies and legumes and I'm a good cook. So... feeling good, saving money, being humane and pampering my tummy. Sounds good to me! My grandparents were from Barcelona. I used to get this as a child but they added some Morcilla (a type of blood puding sausage) & Spanish Chorizo, not being vegans. It was out of this world. They used to tell me this dish was good enough to bring people back from the dead. Thank you for sharing.

I couldn't wait to try this, even though I had to use frozen spinach, and didn't have saffron or raisins. I substituted chopped dates for the raisins, and the dish came out great! Thank you for this delicious recipe. Also, this was my first time grating a tomato to make sauce. I'll be using that method more.

First of your recipes we have tried!! I actually am no fan of chickpeas AT ALL but the addition of raisins and almonds meant I hardly noticed them!! That is a great recipe for chickpeas therefore. By the way we used kale instead of spinach because it was in the garden and it worked fine. Also served it over rice which I do think detracted a bit so next time, will eat with bread as you suggested! Love this channel! Looking forward to 'digging in'. ¡España!

Oh my, oh my just finished making this dish and it is AMAZING! You never disappoint. I am going to make your flat bread to go with. Did not have any saffron so subbed in 1/4 tsp turmeric and 1/2 tsp of paprika. Blessings and happy food dance!

Here in Catalonia we use in many plates the raisins for example in( Espinacs amb panses i pinyons) spinach with raisins and ...pinyons (the fruit of the pine tree)my english is not good sorry.

@I'm the dude, dude--The almonds contribute not only protein, but add a nice crunch element, so pepita seeds would work, or maybe sunflower seeds.
